  1. Hello to everyone that is returning and also to anyone who is joining us for the first time. I am delighted to announce that Lady Gaga Now is finally back online. The last year has brought many challenges to everyone. It has been a difficult year for us here at Lady Gaga Now. The shock of having your life's work erased from existence brought me many challenges and left me in a position where I could really take the time to reflect on the future. It's no secret that GagaNow made many enemies on its path to today, but I never thought they would harm the whole community. To be honest, the hate never bothered me as I'm a very positive person by nature. However, this time they hit at the core and it hurt. The pain presented me great difficulties, but also made me reflect about how I wanted to move forward. Everyone knows that I care about about Little Monsters' welfare, but most of all I believe in Lady Gaga's message of kindness and positivity. And so I decided to start everything again with a new purpose. I want this community to be kinder and open. I want your stories, art, and voices to be heard, and I hope I'll manage to give each one of you, the space and respect you all deserve. I want the intention of Lady Gaga Now to be the driving force in how it differentiates itself from its competition. I do not think that what I do here is better than other places, it is just different. Different in its purpose. With this new goal in mind the amazing team that worked so hard day and night to bring back everything in record time was able to recover more than 7 years of work in just 5 months. This includes all 140,000+ images in GAGAIMAGES, all the latest articles, and many more surprises that I will now briefly explain. Thank you for sticking with us, I will forever be grateful for your endless support. Thank you to everyone who sent donations to help us recover the website so fast. Thank you to Lady Gaga's team, especially the superlative Bobby Campbell who believes in our community and gave me the strength to go forward. Enjoy the journey and welcome back! Matteo A New Domain You might have noticed our website is now reachable at GAGANOW.NET. Starting from the new year we are going to slowly move from our previous domain ladygaganow.co. With this new rebranding, GagaNow.Net is will be our new official domain. GAGAIMAGES is coming along, and will now be available at GAGAIMAGES.NET The Dashboard The new GagaNow homepage will be your new favorite homepage! In this new one-in-all dashboard, you'll quickly find the latest news, upcoming events, the latest pictures on GAGAIMAGES, and the main feed from the forum. We also added a special place to highlight the most talented artist in this fanbase. We will periodically sponsor the most talented monsters giving them a platform so they can be noticed and uplifted by others in the fanbase. The Layout The layout of a website is almost as important as its content. For a web developer like me, it has been so challenging to create a total new experience that still felt familiar. So I'm happy to show you the 3 new themes of GagaNow.net. You can pick them using the new button on the top bar. The new Chromatica layout has been developed to give you the most colorful experience possible. Following the most modern Flat Style Design, this theme features a rainbow animation up to reflects Lady Gaga's latest album cycle. If you are a person who loves options, you can explore Lady Gaga Now by changing it to the Dark Chromatica theme. Enjoy this dark fantasy with a layout created for viewing in low lit areas. We also have a new theme called Day which is a fantastic way for you to experience the website as well in its lightest and fastest form. The Forum The creature that has been worked on the most is the forum. Thank you to a veteran monster, @Twitter, I've revamped our forum to give you a brand new, safe, and positive space to discuss your favorite topics. Kindness is the key here at Lady Gaga Now does not allow any forms of racism, xenophobia, discrimination. Anything deemed as bullying or hateful will result in consequences. We are here to uplift, inform, and experience together. Joining discussions on the forum will also grant you special powers on the community, such as lifting the download limit on Gagaimages, the possibility to use GIFS or a cover picture on your profile and gain access to a special section on the gallery. Lady Gaga Now + The Mighty I'm very proud of this one. In the last few months we have lost one too many Little Monsters due to suicide. It is incredibly heartbreaking to read their story for such a long time and having the knowledge that it is now too late to do anything. The truth is that it is never too late to help the others. I've seen with my own eyes that this fanbase has a good and kind soul. Monsters writing "my dms are open" or "please talk to me if you need to", are the the ones who embrace better the spirit and message of Lady Gaga and Lady Gaga Now. I've been working hard to give a safe space and a voice to those fans who might need support and do not know where to find it. We want to help as much as we can. Thanks to our friends at the Born This Way Foundation, we were put in contact with The Mighty so we are now able to offer a safe place. The Mighty is an association and an online community whose main goal of giving a space to people who are in need, want to share their stories, and want to be heard. Thanks to their amazing community, hundreds of people have been able to support each other by joining the online video groups and message groups. Lady Gaga Now will now offer a similar experience in the forum. It is an extension provided by The Mighty community. I'm also working on an anonymous way of posting so that those who are more shy can feel comfortable. For now, you can still share your story behind your private account. More details of our collaboration with The Mighty will come soon. In the meantime join their community, or download their mobile app. It's really worth it. The Forum Game We are here to keep you engaged! At first I thought leaks and outtakes was the best way to keep people interested, but following the Billboard news-drama that I delivered back in January, and the sudden leak of Stupid Love I didn't feel comfortable anymore about sharing details about upcoming plans as Lady Gaga Now is a respectful place to everyone, including Lady Gaga and her team. So I decided to step back and give you guys something with a real value: prizes. Starting January 2021, the forum will host a new type of giveaway: Every two weeks, the most active user will receive a special prize from us. The two most active users will receive a Golden Pit Standing tickets to the Chromatica Ball in Paris each. To join the game, you simply have to post and reply on our forum. Each new topic will grant you 3 points, replies and positive reactions will grant you 1 point. Posting in the Mental Health section will grant you 5 points for each new topic, and 3 points for each answer. Spamming, receiving negative reactions, or posting toxic comments will make you loose points or get disqualified from the game. The users atop the leaderboard will win one prize from the drawing. A small leaderboard will be always available on the dashboard and on the forum. Our LGN Mobile App will feature a complete leaderboard. Each user can win up to 1 prize during the whole game. However, even those who already won something can still win the final prize. The game is open worldwide. The tickets will be delivered on the venue to ensure that they don't get resold. If the concert will get cancelled we will try to find replacement prizes. We reserve the right to cancel a win at any time. Here are the prizes. The Gallery GAGAIMAGES is back! The original and most updated Lady Gaga gallery on the whole web is now available for everyone to use. The main set of pictures will be available to everyone for free. Candids and pictures from the events will be available only to users with an active account on the website. All pictures have now been resized to deliver a faster experience, so do not worry if you open a picture and it doesn't looks massive as before. The original pictures are always available after you'll click the "download button". To avoid batch downloading I set a limit to 50 daily downloads and 5GB of traffic from each user. The limits resets every 24 hours. The MEME section is also back, feel free to upload all the gaga-related memes in your gallery! Thank you to my new team of collectors @hiimer0s, @Pabllo, @GagaXCollection, @Juan & @dayvisxn for helping me re-upload and re-ordering ALL albums by date. This fanbase should make you all a statue! Also, you might want to look at some albums in the next day, you might find some surprises. The App The LGN Mobile App will soon be back online on the App Store as well as for Androids in the Play Store along with the loved notification system. Unfortunately Apple reviewers are on holiday, so the app will be on again from earlier January. But don't worry, as soon as it will be operative we will start working on it to make the mobile experience even bigger with games, a gallery, and much much more! The Welcome Back Giveaway To celebrate the re-opening of Lady Gaga Now, we teamed up with Instagram artist GagaStackFigure to gift you an exclusive Lady Gaga action figure. We will randomly pick a user that will join our forum starting today to December 31. You must follow GagaStackFigures on Instagram as well. The user will be picked on Instagram and the figure will be sent later in January as soon as Amaury, the artist, will print his next creation. Good luck! You I really hope you guys enjoy the new website, I developed everything with love. I really can't wait to hear your feedbacks. Your messages and reviews are always welcomed, just like your help. The leak section has been moved under "contact us", a new section that everyone can use to reach out to us, wether is to ask for help, send us media or let us know about something we missed. What's Coming Next There is always something to do. Ideas keep coming and the Lady Gaga Now team take all of our projects incredibly seriously. We are about them and put our everything into it. We are working hard to bring back our merchandise shop so that we can give platforms to young designers. We just ask you to be patient, many other stores have popped up, and many other will come, but we assure you that the quality you'll find with us won't be available elsewhere. With that said, we have many secret projects coming soon! And with new Lady Gaga music on the way in the new year we hope we will manage to keep you guys entertained! Thank you everyone, Stay safe. Thank you to my LadyGagaNow family Without you, I would be nothing. Thank you for allowing me to sleep at night. 2. The long-awaited "Friends: The Reunion" special aired on HBO Max last night, featuring many special guests, including Lady Gaga. Gaga joined "Phoebe" (Lisa Kudrow) in an improvised version of the iconic song "Smelly Cat", performed by the actress back in Season 2. You can watch the clip below.
  3. It is with great pleasure we announce that our merchandising shop will re-open this Friday! Following the closure of our shop a few years ago, we are now super excited to reveal that the Lady Gaga Now Shop will be back online soon, precisely: This Friday, April 30th! Our merchandise shop has been well known in the fanbase: our high-quality products with premium prints have been purchased from all over the globe and earned us the respect of the whole community. The idea of a merchandising store ran by fans has always been an important thing for us: not only because it helps us pay the high server costs of our community, but because it gives Little Monsters a chance to earn some money for their artwork. From the very early days, we have always looked for inspiring fans to help them share their creativity with the world. And not only has this initiative evolved into a successful project, but it also has allowed many fans to get their work acknowledged and admired. And things are no different this time. As we are going to build a bigger and stronger catalog in the coming months, we'd love to continue our partnership with younger fans, to create even better designs and unleash their artwork into the world. Unfortunately, you might not find all the previous designs that we had in store since our merchandising license changed during the past couple of years. But even though we haven't been able to score a new official partnership, we have made sure to give you many alternatives and we are confident there will be something for everyone! As you will see this Friday, the shop has a whole new design, as it has been moved to its own platform. We've built it to make your shopping experience super easy and accessible: browse quickly through the categories, create a fast checkout, and stay updated about your delivery. But that's not all! Stay tuned for an exclusive experience, called THE LOUNGE, for those who love our community the most, and many, many new initiatives. See you this Friday! BOOKMARK IT: SHOP.LADYGAGANOW.NET

  8. Entertainment Weekly has published a new article and interview with DJWS about ARTPOP and the infamous unreleased ARTPOP Act II. Read an excerpt of the interview below. ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What is it like for you to see ARTPOP's resurgence eight years later? DJ WHITE SHADOW: Everything is weird! We worked hard on that record and I'm glad it impacted people so much that they're still excited about it. Obviously, people talked about Born This Way and the impact it had on culture, and ARTPOP got stuck in a weird spot. There were a lot of things going on behind the scenes β€” management shifts for her.... the changing of the guard at Interscope, Jimmy Iovine was [leaving] and John Janick was coming in, and people weren't buying CDs anymore as much as they were streaming. It was wildly confusing. What a f---ed up time to drop a record. In the way that it gets pushed out, the numbers don't always reflect how it went down. That record was in upwards of 3 million in sales. It was a good-selling record, but when you're following [Born This Way selling] 6 million copies, you look like an asshole. EW: I think songs like "Tea" and "Onion Girl" are the two I've seen people talking about the most. Lyrically, what story did those songs tell? DJWS: It's tough for me to talk about lyrics. If her and I were sitting next to each other, I would totally talk about it. But I don't want to step on her like that. I can tell you that they're both good songs. There is a song called "Onion Girl." EW: There was also "I Wanna Be With You," which she performed at the iTunes festival and you co-wrote, morphing to become "Dope" on the album. What happened with that process β€” how and why did it go from performing that song publicly to it changing into a different song for the album release? DJWS: When we did the iTunes Festival, we hadn't gotten to the point where we were sitting in the studio finishing things completely. So, she wanted to make changes! At the end of the day, it's her art. If we're talking about a car, she comes up with the concept, she goes in and draws it, and I come in with a screwdriver and some wrenches and try and put the car together. Sometimes you have to take the car apart to put it back together the way she wants it, and that's all that is. That's a song that we had a version of, she liked it, and she wanted to do something different. It's not up to me to say no. I would never say no. Let's get this thing out the way she wants to get it together! At the end of the day, "Dope" was the song she wanted on the record, and it just started as something else. I see that happen 500 times, and you guys get to see it once. That's a microcosm of how albums work. You build one idea as A, and you don't go to Z, you go to AAA to five As to five Zs. I'm sure there were 12 iterations between "I Wanna Be With You" and "Dope" that we did. EW: You've played snippets of "Tea" on the road. Are there any other instrumentals you might've played on the road without telling people they're from the album or have any of these instrumentals snuck into other places β€” whether it's tour interludes or anywhere else? DJWS: No! I asked before I did that. Even if I make the instrumental and I play it for her and she thinks it's cool, out of respect for another human being, I'd always ask. I twisted it a little bit at the end to fit where it was supposed to fit in my personal set. I reproduced part of it. You can read the full interview at EW.com DJWS was a producer on Lady Gaga's 2013 album, ARTPOP. The ambitious EDM album was met with mixed reviews from critics, but eventually became a cult classic. It is one of Gaga's most adored projects by her fans, and is now considered 'ahead of its time'. Gaga had an entire second act that was set to be released, but it ended up being scrapped. Little Monsters have continued to campaign for it to be released one day, a dream that seemed like it would never be realized until April 2021. On April Fools, DJWS posted a joke about one of the ARTPOP Act II songs, "Tea", and fans went into a frenzy. A petition was started to show the love for ARTPOP and the demand for the release of Act II. The petition got thousands of signatures, and ARTPOP went number 1 on iTunes Worldwide. The resurgence of ARTPOP got news outlets buzzing and Lady Gaga herself thanked fans for the love and support.

  11. This first part of the review is spoiler-free, but keep in mind that there will be a short part at the end where I'm going to discuss some scenes of the movie. Skip that part if you don't want to read any details about the movie. A few days ago, I had the privilege to attend the first premiere of Lady Gaga's upcoming movie, "House of Gucci", in London. Lady Gaga herself attended the event, along with her co-stars Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek, and Jeremy Irons. The event made the whole city vibrate like few events in the past. People climbed up to the rooftops of the pubs around the square just to get a glimpse of the star that everyone was waiting for. And then she arrived. A sexy fierce queen dressed in purple walked right inside the theater knowing that everyone was just waiting for her and the performance that she was about to deliver. With the stars in the audience, the screening was filled with cheer and applause periodically during memorable scenes. Even Gaga herself dared to start a round of applause for Jeremy Irons and Salma Hayek during two different epic scenes. As soon as the movie ended, a 5-minute long standing ovation followed the credits scenes, leaving everyone discussing their opinions about the movie. House of Gucci, the 27th movie from iconic director Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, Hannibal, Prometheus), has everything you need and more, but also lots of things that you didn’t ask for and that maybe will make you fall in love. The movie is lots of things: it’s fun, it’s dramatic, it’s exaggerated, it’s long, and it’s super entertaining. But, it’s also very different from what you expect, and will surely make some eyes roll from the very beginning, though no one can deny that it stands out and sets itself apart from any recent movies you might have seen. House of Gucci is long enough to allow the director to make the mood of the whole movie switch multiple times from vibes of β€œMarriage Story” to β€œAmerican Crime Story: Versace” and then again from β€œGreen Book” to β€œKnives Out”. This movie has everything and more, and Ridley managed to keep the rhythm of the movie so engaging, that time flies and you never get bored, not even for a minute. Lady Gaga is sensational. She makes you laugh, she makes you cry, and she makes you gasp so many times, that you almost start rooting for her. The way she portrayed Patrizia is something that she has never done before; not only does she give the character an insane depth, she also makes you connect to her story in such a deep way that you almost feel like you are seeing the rise and fall of a close relative. It is light years away from the character of Ally (A star is Born), and just a few planets away from The Countess (American Horror Story). Lady Gaga manages to give this new alter-ego her own life. Even if it might take a few scenes for Lady Gaga & Adam Driver’s chemistry to shine, as the film progresses it becomes something so real, that it feels like you’ve been struggling with their story as well, as if you lived it with them. I might say that It is a different story for Al Pacino. Each scene with the legendary actor is just perfection. The man is so great that everyone around him becomes great as well, even the funny (albeit sometimes out of place) Jared Leto, to whom the director reserved the role of the funny/dummy sidekick. What stands out the most, is the chemistry between Lady Gaga and Salma Hayek. The friendship they built behind the scenes is so real, that it turned into a sensational connection in all their scenes together that you almost desire to see a Netflix spin-off of their adventures. I’m almost certain that the general public will LOVE this movie a lot. Twitter stans will eat it up instantly, thanks to the plenty of iconic scenes with funny and shady moments. It might not become a viral blockbuster, but it’s also right that way. House of Gucci is meant to be an experimental movie that will divide the critics, but it will surely make everyone entertained and mark another milestone in Lady Gaga’s career with a second, and well-deserved, Best Actress Oscar nomination. Minor Spoiler Section. The critiques I offer towards the film, are from rumors that were born during the making of the movie. Lady Gaga does not break the 4th wall and she definitely does not narrate the movie. She just introduces the movie with the speech you hear in the trailer, but that’s it. This weird rumor made my hype decrease a little bit, even if you realize later that it would be totally out of place. A funny thing that you can notice about this movie (remembering the candids from the sets of a few months ago), is that almost all the scenes have been recorded in the same order that they appear in the film. It explains so well why the whole movie becomes better and better the more it goes forward. Although the cast (and their chemistry) doesn’t sparkle in the first scenes, it solidifies and shines brighter than the sun later in the movie. That does highlight the audience’s feeling of growth along with the relationships themselves, as we see them blossom on screen throughout the film. The big debate and critiquing of Gaga’s accent shouldn’t even exist when the other actors paled in comparison with theirs (except for Al Pacino of course). On the contrary, her accent is super credible and also very accurate, especially in these scenes where she has to talk in Italian. A disappointment regarding the film is that many scenes of the trailer are not in the movie, and some of the most iconic scenes are cut. The part where she talks about β€œunconventional punishments” isn’t there, nor the disco scene with the blue outfit and the drag queens, nor the newest scene of gaga's incident. What makes the movie a bit unconventional is that the first part is super fast, meanwhile, the second part is diluted over many years and they give you time to process them. If Gaga’s acting doesn’t convince you at first, trust me, it will later in the movie with all scenes that fit her the best. Especially the dramatic ones. Towards the end, you can see Patrizia broken, and suffering while surviving in a way that you empathise with her so much that you have to applaud the remarkable acting by Gaga. She has solicited her title as Actress. What I loved the most about her performance is that Patrizia gets labeled as a β€œgold digger” instantly, and for the whole movie, Lady Gaga makes you believe that she was not just that, but someone way more profound and real. Many will take the opportunity to trash this movie and compare it to A Star is Born because the chemistry between the two main actors is way too different from the chemistry that Gaga and Bradley had; but that would be like comparing β€œThe Fame” with β€œLove For Sale”. Two different projects, with two different meanings, made with different purposes. Even if this movie won’t have the same magnitude as the previous one, it will surely be remembered as the one that turned Lady Gaga into a more mature and accomplished actress. - Matteo, LGN
  12. In a recent interview with Italian singer Fedez, Donatella Versace confirmed that she designed a shirt to celebrate 10 years of Lady Gaga's Born This Way. Timestamp: 1:06:45 The design of the shirt is still unknown, but what was confirmed is that all the proceeds from the sale, will go to The Born This Way Foundation.
  13. The Scarlet Bar in Chicago hosted their "no skips" ARTPOP party, and ARTPOP's main producer DJ White Shadow was in full attendance. White Shadow told stories about the creation of Lady Gaga's 2013 album ARTPOP, and reassured fans of his excitement of a potential sequel album. He opened the night by reminiscing about Lady Gaga's own thoughts on the ARTPOP movement as she claimed that many weird things have been occurring during the pandemic. White Shadow then humorously turned to the audience and said "I don't think these things are happening because of the pandemic. I think they are happening because we made a great record." As the album played, he revealed small stories in between each of the songs. He revealed that the tracks opening song, Aura, was meant to be ARTPOP's lead single. In addition he shared a sentimental story about how Venus is one of the songs Lady Gaga plays when she's in a bad mood because "it gets her hyped." Throughout the night DJ White Shadow also gave more humurous stories about ARTPOP and its creation, including the origin story behind one of its most experimental songs, Jewels N Drugs. There was some jewelry and weed on the table on the tour bus and Lady Gaga asked Tara Savelo to pass her the weed, but she passed her the bracelet instead. Gaga told Tara "I don't want the jewels, I want the drugs." Fans approached White Shadow as he took pictures and signed their merchandise throughout the night.

  15. This week’s cover of The Hollywood Reporter has been revealed, featuring a stunningly wicked Lady Gaga in support of her new film House of Gucci. Lady Gaga by AD + DM for THR You can read an extract from the interview below. [...] One day while shooting a scene with Salma Hayek, who plays Patrizia's confidant, Gaga was laying on a couch rely- ing on a Stanislavski acting technique (in which she would run through sense memories from an emotional event) when the line between her own experiences and Patrizia's began to blur. "It's a scene where I knock a lit candle across the room, and I remember I gave Salma a heart attack that day, " Gaga says. "I was falling apart as (Patrizia) fell apart. When I say that I didn't break character, some of it was not by choice." Gaga had experienced this kind of dissociative state before - including once when she was hospitalized. On the Gucci set, Scott intervened, concerned by the impact the performance seemed to be having on his leading actress. "Ridley said, 'I don't want you traumatiz- ing yourself,'" Gaga says. "And I said, 'I already have. I've already been through this anyway. I might as well give it to you.' And he said, 'Well, leave it here and don't do this to yourself anymore.' [...] "I took the pain I feel from being attacked when I was a young girl, from feeling left behind by people that I love, from feeling trapped that I can't go out into a world that I love," Gaga says. "I took that pain and I gave it to her." Her House of Gucci performance is one that will cement Gaga's place not as a singer who acts, but as an actress full stop, and confirm that her Oscar nomination for 2019's A Star Is Born was no fluke. After seeing A Star Is Born, Scott wanted Gaga for House of Gucci and quickly set up a meeting. "There was only one person ever in my sights at this moment in time who could carry this pretty forthright woman, [...] I found Stef to be inordinately approachable and, frankly, a lot of fun. She's very smart and very, very perceptive. I knew after that first meeting, it was essential that she would do this part. She must. And, of course, because of her very recent success [in A Star Is Born], that made it a lot easier for us to get going and get a proper budget." (The movie cost more than $75 million.) Lady Gaga by AD + DM for THR Gaga sees Patrizia as a performance of a lifetime "meaning I put my entire lifetime into her" - and a cautionary tale about what happens to a woman who has been taught that all of her value is in the man whom she marries. In a scene where a family attorney serves Patrizia divorce papers at her daughter's school, "I yelled at him for every woman on earth, the way that we all do," she says. "As a woman, I feel like I really can snap into something that's not about the person that I'm yelling at. It's like I'm yell- ing at all the men that came before them. It doesn't make it right, but it's real." Her interpretation of Patrizia is a femi- nist one - that what drove a woman to murder was going unseen and unheard by the men around her. "I can assure you, you should never put a hit out on your husband," Gaga says. "But my love and best wishes and my heart go out to all of us women who try to survive and matter in a man's world. While lots of men were trying to figure out what piece of this pie they were going to get to keep, while they were watching the money, they should have been watching her. And because they didn't pay attention to her, they lost everything." [...] "My mother and father met me as Patrizia a couple times," Gaga says. "And they were mostly laughing because my family gets a kick out of my love of artistry... There's a downside to committing yourself to a role in that way because it's an adjustment for everybody around you. Suddenly, you're not talking to Stefani anymore with an accent. You're talking to Patrizia Gucci." Hayek praises the end result, "the fresh ness of [Gaga's] performance and creativity in her choices.'" She was the ultimate professional," Hayek says. Lady Gaga by AD + DM for THR On most days during the three-and-a-half-month production, Gaga woke up around 3 a.m. to begin her transformation, a process that included donning a prosthetic bald cap under her various wigs. Often after she awoke she vomited, from some mixture of "anxiety, fatigue, trauma, exhaustion, commitment and love," she says. "You wake up, you throw up, you go to set, throw up again." As British costume designer Janty Yates details, "Ridley [Scott] wanted Lady Gaga to look more like Gina Lollobrigida than Joan Collins of Dynasty, so basically we looked at all the photos of Gina in her prime in the '60s, and I did a later-'70s version of the lace dress." (To create the outfit, the costume team's hand cutter Dominic Young individually applied every piece of lace.) In May of 2020, during the dark early months of the pandemic, Gaga released the house music-inspired Chromatica, her sixth consecutive No. 1 album. Though still a hit, it sold only a fraction of her early dance music albums, like 2009's The Fame and 2011's Born This Way. She attributes some of that to the moment, a time when people were scared and secluded at home, not out dancing in clubs. "[The early pandemic] was a time where enter- tainment was, in a way, so needed," Gaga says. "But also we just were not fully in the place to receive that. And I think that that's OK. Sometimes the world is just not in a place to be able to take in art and have it feel good." Gaga says she struggled with depression while making Chromatica. "That album was so difficult," she says. "Almost every day that I went into the studio, I didn't want to be there. When I went into the studio, I used to say, 'I'm so depressed on a clinical deep level, and I do not want to create anything. I'm not entertained right now.' ... During that time, that music did not make me happy, entertainment did not make me happy, performing did not make me happy." Lady Gaga by AD + DM for THR [...] Gaga has now sung on the Oscars stage three times and twice at the Super Bowl (including as the halftime per- former), but 2021 brought a performance with a new kind of stakes for her - the inauguration, which happened two weeks after the attack on the Capitol and in a month when 3,135 Americans were dying per day from COVID-19. "I had to speak to the country and the world in a different way,' she says. "For that performance, it was through Stefani, meaning myself. And in the world that all went through the last four years together, with Donald Trump. In a lot of ways, I thought to myself, 'How could I possibly be patri- otic?' I remember thinking that we were at war. And this was a war song. Singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" 5 feet from Mike Pence, 4 feet from George W. Bush, 10 feet from the president-elect, I really realized while I was up there, Oh, that's right. Not everything is like Donald Trump. We can all be seated in the same place together and be civilized and move forward.' And I found peace in that. I found that to be orderly. Kindness can be orderly." 20. Ridley Scott's upcoming movie, "House of Gucci", has just finished filming in Rome today, May 6th, 2021. Just a few months after we saw the first picture of Lady Gaga arriving in Rome (Feb. 24th), "House of Gucci" has wrapped up filming and will now move into post-production. "House of Gucci" tells the story of the murder of Maurizio Gucci, owner of the Italian Luxury Brand 'Gucci,' killed by his former wife, Patrizia Reggiani. The first look of Lady Gaga and Adam Driver on set were captured back on March 8th in Bressoney, Italy. It was our first glimpse at the pair in costume as Patrizia Reggiani and Maurizio Gucci. There have been many photos of the pair filming over the course of the past three months, giving us a glimpse at the upcoming film which will tell the couple's story from the beginning of their romance through to Gucci's murder. Right after filming at the snowy set in Aosta Valley, the cast moved to Milan to shoot a few scenes in a re-created "New York", as well as other shoots on Piazza Duomo. Just a week later, the cast moved to Lake Como, where we first saw Al Pacino and Jared Leto as members of the Gucci family. The cast then moved to Rome, where they shoot most of the movie between the ancient streets and the private studios of CineCittΓ . Apparently, Lady Gaga also shot various scenes with Drag Queens, in a reconstructed Studio 54. The "House of Gucci" author, Sara Gay Forden, revealed in an interview that Lady Gaga will be the narrator of Ridley Scott's upcoming movie, meaning the story will be told from the perspective of Patrizia Reggiani. The first provisional release dates for "House of Gucci" have been released via IMDb. In Canada, France, and the USA, the highly anticipated movie is set for a November 24th release. Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands can expect to see the movie in theaters on November 25th, and for the UK, Ireland, and Lithuania, the film should be released on November 26th. Italy will, unfortunately, have to wait a bit longer as "House of Gucci" is not expected to be released there until December 3rd.

  37. Madison Love, one of the main songwriters behind the explosive collaboration between Lady Gaga and BLACKPINK, Sour Candy, recently did an interview with Rolling Stone. In the interview Love talks about the origins of the track and the behind the scene processes of its making. Sour Candy arrived a day before Chromatica's release as a surprise release/buzz single. Arguably one of the most anticipated tracks on Chromatica, Sour Candy arrived in the form of a "k-pop basement banger" as Lady Gaga calls it. Moreover, Sour Candy has also been hailed as one of the most prominent collaborations and conjoining of western music and k-pop. Love revealed that song, when it was first written, had no set artist to take it. However she says she knew it was made to be a Lady Gaga record. "When Love wrote the first version of β€œSour Candy” with producer/writer BloodPop, no artist had dibs on the song yet. But in her heart, she knew it belonged to Lady Gaga. β€œI love to write theatrical pop,” Love says. β€œI decided to sing it like Gaga for the demo just in case he wanted to play it for her." After a while, Love reveals that Bloodpop had called months later saying Gaga wanted to enlist the talent of BLACKPINK's four fierce members on the track. Love reveals the sheer excitement and emotion she felt while being in the studio with Gaga, and while she has collaborated and worked with many artists, this one felt different to her. β€œI work with artists all the time and I don’t get nervous, but she’s just a star to me… She puts it on, and we’re dancing. She’s dancing on me and doing full choreo in the middle of the room. I was so overwhelmed. It was the coolest five minutes of my life.” She even revealed the comical situation that occurred in her Uber Drive on the way home saying how she was "basically crying on the phone" and how confused the driver was about what had just occurred. Sour Candy has long been hailed as an album highlight but more importantly as a pop culture highlight as well. Critics praised Gaga and BLACKPINK's duet as an prime example of the greatness that can be achieved when western artists team up with k-pop powerhouses. 43. After a week-long campaign by fans to get ARTPOP to number one on iTunes after the incentive of the Act II Petition, the numbers for Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums charts are in. Lady Gaga currently holds the top three spots*: 1. The Fame 2. Chromatica 3. ARTPOP *(the chart hans't been updated yet) This is ARTPOP's first return to the top of this chart in seven years, reinforcing Lady Gaga's recent Twitter statement about the album being ahead of its time. The Fame also holds the record for the most weeks at number one (126 weeks) as well as the most weeks on the chart (369 weeks).
  44. Lady Gaga spoke recently to the American newspaper USA Today, where she talked about her life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gaga revealed she felt powerless over everything that was happening around the world. She also encouraged everyone to move and exercise so that they can have a more active life. Here is an excerpt from the original interview: The "Chromatica" singer, 34, told USA TODAY she shares what many people feel during this time: "an epic sense of powerlessness over what's happening in the world." "We've encountered a super virus that is epic in its disastrous proportions," she said. "So that feeling of powerlessness in some ways is, I think, something that we all share." The pandemic has energized her in other ways, though, adding that it has "really mobilized me to work on how I can help the world." Gaga believes hopes it will be "one of the movements that is part of building back our global community and building back our local communities," by showing people that we "can get back to quote-unquote normalcy, but we must do it safely." "It's been really important to me that I continue to move my body. It's really important for my mental health," she said. "So I've been doing, you know, regular exercises that I would normally do. But I mostly take walks, and I mostly hike. I wear my mask, and I go on hikes." She said she "used to be really nervous about hikes" because of her chronic pain condition, but she's overcome her concerns. "I found during COVID that... you can grab the courage that's happening in the universe and grab that bravery and put it right inside yourself and be fearless," she explained. She hopes others stay active, whether through an online yoga class or a "walk around the block you live on," while the world is "in the midst of a mental health crisis." "I really encourage people to move their bodies and be in the world. Wear masks, stay safe, but don't forget to move. Because when your energy's stagnant like that, it really can lead to mental health problems," she said. "I really believe that by practicing everyday skills... like moving your body, drinking lots of water, eating healthy, making sure to take care of yourself, self-care – these are things that we have to make sure that we're doing to take care of our minds." 45. From recording a Grammy-nominated duet to starring in a highly anticipated movie sequel, Lady Gaga enjoyed a legendary year throughout the entirety of 2024. Here's a look back at some of her biggest successes this year. February Gaga finally learned what Fortnite is when she was announced as the game's featured artist on Feb. 22, 2024. Players were able to purchase the Chromatica Gaga Bundle, which featured perks inspired by Gaga's 2020 album "Chromatica," such as the Chromatica Armor outfit and "Rain Check" emote. Several of her songs were made available as Jam Tracks, including "Stupid Love," "Poker Face," "Born This Way" and more. She began teasing her return to music via Instagram, when she posted several photos from a recording studio. Gaga also graced the cover of EMPIRE Magazine, giving her first interview on her "Joker: Folie Γ  Deux" character. August On August 15, Gaga announced "Die With A Smile," her collaboration with Bruno Mars, which released alongside its video on that same day. The video features Gaga and Mars in matching blue-and-red outfits, performing the song on a mock studio set. Gaga joined Mars at his concert at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, to debut a live version of the song on its release night. The song debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has remained in the Top 10 of the chart since its release (with the exception of one week, when the Top 10 was occupied by holiday songs). September September saw Gaga in full-press mode to promote "Joker: Folie Γ  Deux," starting with its premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. While in Venice, Gaga shocked fans by posting a picture of her itinerary to Instagram, revealing that the lead single from "LG7" would be released in October. In an interview with Vogue, she revealed the long-awaited "LG7" is coming in February 2025. Until then, she continued promoting "Joker: Folie Γ  Deux," attending the film's London and Los Angeles premieres toward the end of the month. The biggest surprise of the month, however, was the mysterious announcement of "LG6.5" on billboards in Los Angeles and New York City, alongside a series of cryptic posts to her Instagram feed. Soon after, the project was revealed to be "Harlequin," a full-length companion album to the film, released on September 27. The album contains 13 songs -- many of them covers, plus two original songs, "Folie Γ  Deux" and "Happy Mistake." The cover versions are featured in "Joker: Folie Γ  Deux," but were sonically reimagined for "Harlequin." Gaga rounded out the month attending a special "Harlequin" listening party with fans in London and guest appearances on "The Graham Norton Show" and Zane Lowe's Apple Music radio show. October October was a big month for Gaga. As "Die With A Smile" saw continued chart success and a nomination for Best Collaboration at the 2024 EMAs, "Joker: Folie Γ  Deux" and its soundtrack were internationally released on October 4. The film was made available for digital purchase on October 29. To finish its promotional cycle, Gaga guested and performed "Happy Mistake" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" But, that was just the beginning. Seven of her song titles were reformatted on streaming platforms, with their titles in all caps aside from the first letter. These seven letters spelled out the word "disease." After Gaga posted a playlist titled ".COM," fans were quick to find that the secret message spelled "gagadisease.com." Upon visiting the website, fans were greeted with a lyric that, once searched, would lead to another website. After cycling through nine websites, it was revealed that "Disease," the lead single from "LG7," would be released on October 25. "Disease" marked a return to the dark electro soundscape explored on 2011's "Born This Way" album. Its horror-themed music video, released on October 29, showed Gaga on the run from a masked figure (portrayed by herself), and also featured a brief snippet of new music midway through the video. The same night as the music video release, Gaga dropped a live taping of "Die With A Smile," performed with Mars in Las Vegas. November Gaga kicked off the month performing "God Bless America" and "The Edge of Glory" at the final rally for US presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris on November 4 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Days later, Gaga scored two nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards for "Die With A Smile." Gaga and Mars' duet was nominated in the Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance categories. Later in the month, "Die With A Smile" became the fastest song to break 1 billion streams on Spotify. Gaga's headlining return to Coachella was announced on November 19. This will be Gaga's second time performing at the festival, following her headline slot in 2017. Two live versions of "Disease" -- "The Antidote Live" and "The Poison Live" -- were released alongside their in-studio performance videos throughout the month. Fans caught wind of Gaga's next acting venture once it was announced that she's joining the cast of the second season of Netflix's "Wednesday," after the show helped popularize the "Born This Way" deep cut "Bloody Mary" last year. Not much is known of Gaga's role in the series, but it is expected to be released in 2025. Additionally, Billboard named Gaga the fifth best pop star of the 21st century. December Gaga starred in "A Carpool Karaoke Christmas," the Zane Lowe-hosted holiday special on Apple TV+, alongside Dua Lipa and Chappell Roan. In the special, Gaga sang several songs, including "Disease," "Die With A Smile" and the holiday classic "Christmas Tree." Her rock-infused cover of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," which was also featured in the special, was released to streaming services at the same time. Gaga made another appearance in the Hulu-exclusive "Elton John: Still Standing," where she spoke of her personal relationship with Elton John and the influence he's had on her career. Then, Gaga made waves when her upcoming performance at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil was announced for May 2025. The performance is expected to be one of the biggest events in history, following Madonna's record-breaking show last year. Finally, to end the year, Gaga appeared in the Top 10 of several of Billboard's end-of-year charts: Top Dance/Electronic Artists (No. 3) Top Dance/Electronic Albums ("The Fame," No. 2; "Born This Way," No. 8) Dance/Electronic Albums Artists (No. 1) Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs (No. 3) Traditional Jazz Album Artists (No. 10) 2025 promises to be a big year for Gaga.
