More than 11 years after its initial release, Lady Gaga’s ‘Bloody Mary’ new single has made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100, charting at #68 and being the highest debut the week of January 9, 2023.
A long-standing fan favourite from Gaga’s renowned 2011 album Born This Way, it marks the seventh song from the record to make an appearance on the chart. The track saw a surge in mainstream popularity thanks to a viral TikTok trend, beginning with an edit of Wednesday Addams dancing to it using a clip from the hit Netflix series Wednesday. Millions of users proceeded to partake in the dance challenge, including Lady Gaga herself.
‘Bloody Mary’ enjoyed enduring success throughout the month of December, remaining steady at 2.5 million daily Spotify streams or higher despite competition from holiday favourites. It reached its highest peak of #24 on Spotify’s Daily Global Songs chart on December 31, 2022 with 2.8 million streams. The song’s success led Lady Gaga to break her all-time Monthly Listeners record on the platform, with over 57 million.

Lady Gaga had another amazing and successful year, from her sold-out Chromatica Ball to landing a brand new acting role as Harley Quinn. Now let's rewind some of the best Gaga moments of 2022.
Gaga kicked off the year with a finish of the awards season for her portrayal in the Ridley Scott directed "House of Gucci". Gaga won the Icon Award at the 2022 Palm Springs International Film Festival. She then attended the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards and made a stunning debut appearance at the BAFTAs wearing an incredible Ralph Lauren gown.
Gaga then attended both the 94th Academy Awards, where she shared a touching moment with Liza Minnelli, and the 64th Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, where she performed songs from her second collaborative album with Tony Bennett “Love for Sale.” They also won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Album.
In April, Gaga released “Hold My Hand” as the lead single from the Top Gun: Maverick original movie soundtrack, which she composed alongside Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe, and Harold Faltermeyer. Critics praised the song as well as the movie, which became one of the highest grossing motion pictures of the year. The song and the score got multiple award nominations, with “Hold My Hand” being shortlisted for the upcoming 2023 Academy Awards.
Lady Gaga took a chance to relaunch her beauty line "Haus Labs". With a total rebrand, Lady Gaga transformed her multi-millionaire brand into a super eco-friendly company that aims to use only natural products for its brand-new formulas.
After exiting a deal with Amazon, Haus Labs by Lady Gaga scored an important deal with Sephora US, making new products (50+ shades of foundations) available for thousands of retail stores nationwide.

The entire summer was marked by Gaga’s triumphant return to the greatest stages and stadiums across the world with her sold-out Chromatica Ball Tour. The tour grossed a total of $112 million from only 20 dates, and Gaga became the highest-grossing touring female artist of the year. Gaga broke numerous records with the tour and received widespread acclaim. Lady Gaga celebrated the end of the tour with multiple digital issues of V Magazine.
A pending TV special for the concert is expected to be released next year.
In August, Lady Gaga announced that she would join Joaquin Phoenix in an upcoming “Joker” sequel, officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux directed by Todd Phillips, and expected to release in 2024.
Gaga finished the year with a record-breaking viral hit, as her 2011 song “Bloody Mary” blew up on digital platforms around the globe, thanks to a viral dance from the new Tim Burton show Wednesday on Netflix.

Even Margot Robbie can't wait to see Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
In an interview with MTV News for her latest film Amsterdam, the film star, best known for playing Quinn in the Suicide Squad films as well as the character's solo feature Birds of Prey, was asked to share her thoughts on Gaga reinterpreting the role in the upcoming Joker sequel, Folie à Deux.
"It makes me so happy," Robbie expressed to MTV's Josh Horowitz.
"I said from the very beginning, all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters, the way like Macbeth or Batman, always gets passed from great actor to great actor. I feel like, in not so many cases, are they female characters... It's such an honor to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters."
Though Gaga's role in Joker: Folie Ă  Deux has yet to be officially confirmed, Robbie has joined fans in their excitement at her likely playing Quinn, stating "I think she'll do something incredible with it."
Joker: Folie Ă  Deux, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, and directed by Todd Phillips, is slated for release October 4, 2024 under Warner Bros. Pictures.

Lady Gaga shared her fourth and final cover of the digital issue of V Magazine.

With the reveal of the final cover shoot by Hedi Slimane, V Magazines also shared a special interview with Lady Gaga, where she opened up about the end of her Chromatica Ball Tour and about her future plans.

Read an excerpt of the interview below.
"I’m not in a nightclub wasted, getting lost in the record…Now I’m inside my dance routine. I’m inside my vocal technique. I’m inside the artistry of the fashion and the imagery. I’m clear about where the cameras are. I’m always thinking about the image that the audience is seeing. It’s a real performance. It’s a performance that honors the craft of my musicianship. When I’m playing piano, I can hear what I’m playing. I care about every note. And I can’t tell you how much suffering is not worth it if it means it’s going to compromise your talent."

"My last show for Chromatica is coming up, and to know that I’ve performed every show with clarity, with purity, and sober on stage. I mean, to know that I gave myself that and gave the audience that—it makes me feel like I’m honoring the privilege that it is to be an artist that’s watched by the world. And I want to give that to the fans too."

"I feel like I’m on another level of gratitude that I know the importance of reflection. And I just want to soak up this moment and in this interview as a way of reflecting on this whole thing and reconnecting with a friend and saying, you know, not goodbye to this show but just welcoming a rebirth into a new chapter of my life, where I can be the artist that I always wanted to be. I can finally stop running away from myself and start running towards myself."

Lady Gaga brought her Chromatica Ball to the sold-out Hard Rock Stadium in Miami for the last show of the highly acclaimed Chromatica Ball Summer Stadium Tour. Unfortunately, the show ended half way due to lightning and weather conditions.

Gaga started the show in front of ~40,000 delighted fans in Florida, performing her well-established Chromatica setlist. There were brand new merch items for the fans in Miami: a special themed hoodie and a new "Fun Tonight" cap.
After multiple attempt to restart the show, Lady Gaga was force to stop the concert in the middle of her performance on the B-stage due to unforeseen weather conditions.
After approximately an hour of harsh rain and thunder, Gaga came on stage to announce that the Chromatica Ball show in Miami is canceled.
Gaga then went live on Instagram and posted a heartfelt message in regards the show's cancellation.

The last time Gaga performed in Florida was back in 2020 when she brought her Las Vegas residency to Miami during Super Bowl weekend for AT&T TV's Super Saturday Night. Gaga's comeback to Florida was nothing short of a spectacle with the ultimate show of The Chromatica Ball at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Lady Gaga was also spotted last night out and about in Miami, celebrating a birthday party with long-time friends, just a few hours before posting her fourth and last cover of V Magazine.
This concludes The Chromatica Ball Tour. Stay tuned for updates about the Chromatica Ball Tour Live version.
Until next time 💗
