Lady Gaga opened up about the process of Making Chromatica on AmericanSongwriters.com on their latest interview: "Lady Gaga Is a Legendary Creative Shape-Shifter"
Here's an excerptĀ from the interview:
ā€œA house is something you construct. I want to make nature in my music. However the genesis, the seed of my rose garden must be that intention to create nature. This album (Chromatica) was my nature at the time. It still is, but I’ve also evolved. I can listen to what I sang and feel catharsis. I feel at peace with myself, and I feel strong and I feel powerful. Sometimes when you don’t feel great, you have to create it.ā€Ā
Gaga started theĀ rollout ofĀ her highly anticipated sixth studioĀ album, Chromatica, in early 2020. Ā The lead single, Stupid Love and the second single,Ā Rain On Me, were both released with stunning visuals that gave a taste to fans of what to expect for theĀ record.Ā
ā€œI chose ā€˜Stupid Love’ as the first single off Chromatica and ā€˜Rain on Me’ as the second because those two songs are about vital things,ā€ Gaga says. ā€œLove in the world, kindness in the world. Rid yourself of shame. Open the door to faith. Accept your pain and embrace the rainfall of those tears. Accept that you’re wet from crying but that you’re still alive. That must be good enough for now.ā€Ā
Chromatica arrived during a veryĀ tumultuous time in the world,Ā however the album sparked joy amongst fans and brought a ray of light into the darkness. Ā Fans and critics praised the album for its upbeat sound and deep, personal message.Ā
ā€œI love music’s ability to spread happiness, kindness and joy,ā€ Gaga says. ā€œI love its ability to speak while it’s singing. I love its ability to say things without saying them. I love its ability to be both simple and complicated at the same time, just like human beings. I love the way it sounds. I love the way it soothes and heals us. I also love the way that music can be disruptive. I think great art is disruptive, and I think that you can be kindly disruptive. I would like to be kindly disruptive until my last song.ā€

Ryan Fischer, Lady Gaga's dog walker,Ā was shot last weekĀ in Los Angeles while outside with herĀ three dogs. Although two of the dogs, Koji and Gustav, were taken at the scene, AsiaĀ escaped the suspects and remainedĀ atĀ Ryan's side until authorities arrived.Ā Thankfully, Ryan has recovered and Koji and Gustav have been found. After a week of intense care at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, he shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram.
Ā
4 days ago, while a car sped away and blood poured from my gun shot wound, an angel trotted over and laid next to me. My panicked screams calmed as I looked at her, even though it registered that the blood pooling around her tiny body was my own. I cradled Asia as best I could, thanked her for all the incredible adventures we’d been on together, apologized that I couldn’t defend her brothers, and then resolved that I would still try to save them… and myself.

Hopeful that my calm(ish) and forceful pleas for the urgency of my care as well as the focused descriptions of the dogs would be enough to help me and get enough police and media attention to find the boys, I looked backed at my guardian angel. I smiled at her shaking form, thankful that at least she would be okay.

From that point, right as the neighbors poured from their homes and restaurant to us on the sidewalk, life has taken a very sudden and unexpected turn.
I am still in recovery from a very close call with death and have kept myself (for the most part, I mean I am human) from the growing media story. I will write and say more later, but the gratitude for all the love I feel from around this planet is immense and intense. I felt your healing support! Thank you. I am humbled and grateful that attention and focus from the police were enough to get Koji and Gustav back to safety, and I know they are committed to bringing these criminals and attempted murderers to justice. I am so appreciative of everything you continue to do.

To all my friends and family who have cried with me and maybe even laughed at one or two of my morbid jokes by my side or over a screen: I love you. Thank you for keeping me grounded now more than ever. All the dog videos and photos from my clients to keep my spirits up worked miracles. Seeing their faces light up when you said my name motivates me to keep pushing so I can play with them and see you again soon. I love you all! First responders and health care workers: you literally saved my life and helped me take newborn walks, I can’t thank you enough. And to my family at Haüs and @ladygaga: your babies are back and the family is whole… we did it! You have shown so much support throughout this whole crisis to both me and my family. But your support as a friend, despite your own traumatic loss from your kids, was unwavering. I love you and thank you.

And now? A lot of healing still needs to happen, but I look forward to the future and the moment when I get bombarded with kisses and licks (and maybe even an excitement pee?) from Asia, Koji, and Gustav.

Lady Gaga revealed recently, in an interview with People Magazine, that one of her family members was hospitalized for two months during the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
The singer also talked about her admiration for the healthcare professionals that have been risking their lives in order to take care of patients in hospitals.
Here's a preview from the interview:
"I got to be honest. I'm about to cry on the other end of this call with you because it's really — it's doctors, it's nurses, it's essential workers," she says. "I haven't spoken to this person about speaking about this publicly, but I will tell you that a very important member of my family was very, very ill recently and in the hospital for almost two months. I was in the ICU by myself many times because you can't go in with more than one person, if you can go in at all. I have never seen the heroic acts of bravery that I witnessed, watching these doctors and nurses and people that were cleaning at the hospitals."
[...]
"They put their heart and soul into their work, and they even cared for me, who — I assure you, nobody could even recognize me behind all the gear that I had on. They just said, 'How are you doing? How is your family? Is everything okay? Can we do anything?'" Gaga says.

Tony Bennett opened up about his battle with Alzheimer’s on AARP.com. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia on people with age. It’s characterized by memory loss, and ends up leaving the person very dependent on caregivers.
Tony was first diagnosed with the disease back in 2016, and while it has certainly progressed, he hasn’t experienced the disorientationĀ that can prompt patients to wonder from home as well as episodes of rage, terror, and depression.
On the same occasion, he also talked about an upcoming project with Lady Gaga, scheduled for this upcoming Spring. The new Jazz album will feature songs recorded from 2018 to 2020.
Here's an excerpt from the interview:
Before his illness, Tony was known as a meticulous and hard-driving perfectionist in the studio. The 2012 documentaryĀ The Zen of BennettĀ (shot three years before the onset of any symptoms) includes an electrifying moment when Tony, working to calm a nervous Amy Winehouse during their duet on ā€œBody and Soul,ā€ snaps at producer Phil Ramone, who has dared to intervene on the studio mic: ā€œNo — stay out of it! Let she and I work it out.ā€ In another sequence, he snaps at his music arranger-piano player, Lee Musiker, for using too fast a tempo on ā€œThe Way You Look Tonight,ā€ which they are rehearsing for a duet with Faith Hill. ā€œIt can't be a throwaway,ā€ Tony says. ā€œI wanna do a definitive version of this song!"
But Tony was a considerably more muted presence during the recording of the new album with Gaga. In raw documentary footage of the sessions, he speaks rarely, and when he does his words are halting; at times, he seems lost and bewildered. Gaga, clearly aware of his condition, keeps her utterances short and simple (as is recommended by experts in the disease when talking to Alzheimer's patients). ā€œYou sound so good, Tony,ā€ she tells him at one point. ā€œThanks,ā€ is his one-word response. She says that she thinks ā€œall the timeā€ about their 2015 tour. Tony looks at her wordlessly. ā€œWasn't that fun every night?ā€ she prompts him. ā€œYeah,ā€ he says, uncertainly. The pain and sadness in Gaga's face is clear at such moments — but never more so than in an extraordinarily moving sequence in which Tony (a man she calls ā€œan incredible mentor, and friend, and father figure") sings a solo passage of a love song. Gaga looks on, from behind her mic, her smile breaking into a quiver, her eyes brimming, before she puts her hands over her face and sobs.
The new LP offers lush, gorgeous duets, with both singers in superb voice. But there is one duty, in connection with the record, that Tony is manifestly not able to perform: promotional interviews. (When I asked him, ā€œAre you excited about the new record with Gaga?ā€ he stared at me silently.) This has left those in charge of Tony's life and career — chiefly Danny and Susan — in a quandary. Eager for as many ears as possible to hear and enjoy what may very well be the last Tony Bennett record, they have jointly decided to break the silence around his condition, a decision they have, necessarily, had to make without Tony's input, since he is, Susan said, incapable of understanding the disease, let alone making momentous decisions about whether to publicly disclose it.

As the 2021 Grammy Awards were originally supposed to air today, we decided to recap Lady Gaga’s wins, looks, and moments from the past decade to get ready for 63rd Grammy Awards which will now air on March 14th, 2021.Ā
Lady Gaga first attended the Grammy Awards eleven years ago today when she was nominated for five Grammys. Ultimately winning her first two, the star cemented her debut at the award show as a successful one.Ā
Below you’ll find a list of Lady Gaga’s nominations and wins. We also go into some fashion that she donned on us and moments that have become pop culture history.Ā
52ndĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2010)

Lady Gaga at her first Grammy red carpet in a custom Giorgio Armani.
Along with being nominated for 5 Grammys including Song, Record, and Album of the year, Lady Gaga alsoĀ opened the show. Arriving in a custom Giorgio Armani gown, she changedĀ for her performance wearing another custom Armani look. She sangĀ Poker FaceĀ and then, along with Elton John, beganĀ a mashup ofĀ SpeechlessĀ and Elton’sĀ Your Song.Ā
Later in the show, Lady Gaga changedĀ into a final look in which she woreĀ theĀ thirdĀ custom Armani dressĀ that hadĀ a matching headpiece. The purple version of thisĀ headpiece wouldĀ later be used for the arena version ofĀ The Monster Ball Tour. Lady Gaga ends the night with two wins, one forĀ Best Dance RecordingĀ forĀ Poker FaceĀ andĀ Best Dance AlbumĀ forĀ The Fame.

Lady Gaga and her first two Grammys.Ā
53rdĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2011)
The 2011 Grammy Awards had a lot of hype around Lady Gaga as she had released her new lead single,Ā Born This Way,Ā two days before the award show. With the song garnering mass popularity and the GrammysĀ stating that Lady Gaga would debut the song at the award show the excitement of Little Monsters was at a peak.Ā

She arrived on the red carpet in an egg shaped ā€œvesselā€ designed byĀ Hussein Chalayan. Being carried onto the carpet, Lady Gaga never actually stepped on the red carpet herself and the models that walked with her stated that this was part of the performance. After the Aretha Franklin tribute, Lady Gaga performedĀ Born This WayĀ for the very first time. She emerged out of the vessel wearing a latex outfit whichĀ wasĀ designed by the Haus of Gaga.Ā
Being nominated for six awards, Lady Gaga was visibly excited when glimpses of her sitting in the audience were shown on television. This culminated when sheĀ had her first televised Grammy acceptance speech, wearing an outfit that would later be seen on the back cover of the album,Ā Born This Way,Ā she accepted the GrammyĀ forĀ Best Pop Vocal AlbumĀ forĀ The Fame Monster. She also won Grammys forĀ Best Music VideoĀ andĀ Best Pop Vocal PerformanceĀ forĀ Bad Romance. In the speech’s final moment, she thanked Whitney stating:Ā Ā
ā€œWhen I wrote,Ā Born This Way,Ā I imagined she was singing it because I wasn’t secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar.ā€Ā

Lady Gaga accepts the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album
54thĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2012)
The 2012 Grammys were held on Sunday, February 12th. The previous day, a year after the song,Ā Born This Way,Ā had been released, Whitney Houston had overdosed and passed away in her hotel room in Beverly Hills. The award show had shifted to a completely somber tone as the night was filled with mourning over the icon.Ā
Being nominated for Pop Vocal Album, Pop Solo Performance, and Album of the Year, Lady Gaga decided not to walk the red carpet due to her sadness over the passing of Houston. She also would not be performing as she was getting ready for herĀ Born This Way Ball Tour. She wore a Versace look and held a matching scepter.Ā Ā

Unfortunately, she went home with no wins and to this day, many Little Monsters believe that her albumĀ Born This WayĀ deserved to win for Best Pop Vocal Album.Ā
57thĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2015)Ā
With no nominations for her fourth album,Ā ARTPOP,Ā Lady GagaĀ took two years off and returned to the Grammy’s in 2015 as a jazz diva. Wearing a Brandon Maxwell silver dress that matched her hair along with a beautiful emerald necklace designed by Lorraine Schwartz, Lady Gaga looked ravishing.Ā Ā

With Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga was nominated forĀ Traditional Vocal AlbumĀ for theirĀ duet album,Ā Cheek to Cheek. They ended up winning the Grammy before the main televised event and Lady Gaga gleamed as she and Tony delivered an amazing performance of the song,Ā Cheek to Cheek.Ā Ā
58thĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2016)
While working with the technology company Intel, Lady Gaga had elaborate plans for her Grammy performance in 2016. However, a month before the show, David Bowie had passed away and the entire music industry paid tribute and mourned together. David Bowie is Lady Gaga's biggestĀ inspiration.Ā It was announced that she would pay tribute to him during the show with the help of Intel’s technology.Ā
In the late summer of 2015, along with Diane Warren, she released a balled written for the film, The Hunting Ground. The haunting Til It Happens to You, received a nomination for Song Written for Visual Media. Although not winning the award, Lady Gaga arrived at the red carpet in a David Bowie inspired Valérie Messika outfit. She then dazzled in her tribute performance and received critical praise for her masterful take on Bowie.
59thĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2017)
After her grandĀ Super BowlĀ performance, Lady Gaga continued to wow audiences when she appeared at the 2017 Grammy red carpet. In customĀ Metallica.Ā

She performed their songĀ Moth Into FlameĀ and withĀ this performance, Lady Gaga once again showed her chameleonic musical talent by singing a heavy metal song and amazed audiences with her professionalism as Metallica’s lead singer’s microphone was not working.
60thĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2018)
Lady Gaga attended the 2018 Grammys amid herĀ Joanne World Tour.Ā Arriving to the red carpet in a beautiful Armani gown and an elaborate hairpiece, she was there for her fifth studio album,Ā Joanne,Ā whichĀ was releasedĀ in October of 2016. It was nominated for Pop Vocal Album and its second single,Ā Million Reasons,Ā was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance.Ā

Lady Gaga did not win any of her nominations as both were won by Ed Sheeran. In fact, women did not take many awards home that evening. When fans, artists, and music professionals shared their concerns, theĀ Recording Academy president Neil Portnow at the timeĀ stated:Ā
Ā ā€œwomen who have the creativity in their hearts and souls, who want to be musicians, who want to be engineers, producers, and want to be part of the industry on the executive levelā€ should ā€œstep up.ā€Ā
Not only was this misogynistic statement met with backlash, but it further proved that the Recording Academy had many faults. Portnow stating this during the height of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements wasĀ further proofĀ ofĀ how women in Hollywood are treated. Lady Gaga even said ā€œTime’s Up" in her performance. Since then, the Recording Academy has done its best to reverse its ways and include women. Many believe that there is much to be done.Ā

Despite this, Lady Gaga delivered a gorgeous performanceĀ ofĀ MillionĀ Reasons and the third and final single,Ā Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?),Ā a piano version of the title track that was released a week before the Grammys. Performing along with co-writer, Mark Ronson, Lady Gaga sang beautifully as she paid tribute to her late aunt and brought the theme of the album to the Grammy stage. AllĀ this,Ā while wearing a gorgeous pink dress as her piano was draped in angelic feathers that were shaped into a heart.Ā
61stĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2019)
The GrammyĀ Awards in 2019 was a fantastic one for Lady Gaga. Coming off her film debut in,Ā A Star Is Born,Ā the lead single off the soundtrack,Ā Shallow,Ā was nominated for four awards including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The song won forĀ Best Pop Duo/Group PerformanceĀ andĀ Best Song Written For Visual Media.Ā She was also nominated and won forĀ Best Pop Solo PerformanceĀ forĀ Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?).Ā
Arriving along Mark Ronson and the otherĀ ShallowĀ writers, Lady Gaga wore a sparkly silver gown by Celine. In an attempt to repair the previous year’s lack of acknowledgment of women, the Grammys had Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez, Alicia Keys, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Lady Gaga deliver a powerful monologue at the start of the show.Ā
ā€œThey said I was weird. That my look, my choices, my sound, that it wouldn’t work. But music told me not to listen to them. Music took my ears, took my hands, my voice, and my soul. And it led me to all of you and my Little Monsters that I love so much.ā€Ā

Returning on stage to accept her and Bradley Cooper’s award forĀ Best Pop Duo/Performance.Ā When it was time to perform, she sang,Ā Shallow, live for the first time. She shined as she delivered a more rock rendition of the track.Ā
62ndĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2020)
Although not attending the Grammys in 2020,Ā Lady Gaga was nominated for three Grammys including Song of the Year for theĀ A Star Is Born's second single,Ā Always Remember Us This Way. She ended up winning two Grammys, one forĀ Best Song Written for Visual MediaĀ for a consecutive time for,Ā I’ll Never Love Again, the soundtrack’s third single. She also wonĀ Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual MediaĀ forĀ A Star Is Born.Ā Ā
63rdĀ Grammy AwardsĀ (2021)
With the 63rdĀ GrammysĀ on their way, Lady Gaga has two nominations. One forĀ Pop Duo/Group PerformanceĀ for her 2020 hit with Ariana Grande,Ā Rain On Me.Ā And forĀ Pop Vocal AlbumĀ for her sixth studio album,Ā Chromatica.Ā
Although Little Monsters believe that she deserved more nominations, they are still hopeful that Lady Gaga adds two more Grammys to her already 11 wins.
As of today, the 29-time nominee has not announced if she had planned a performance or appearance.Ā
