Lady Gaga Talks Motherhood And Performs On 'The Howard Stern Show'

Lady Gaga's March 11 appearance on "The Howard Stern Show," featured acoustic performances of two MAYHEM favorites, "Abracadabra" and "Perfect Celebrity."
"I put together this other version of it I thought could be cool. I wanted to play it for my fans," she said of the new, piano-led and stripped down "Abracadabra" arrangement.
She then went on to introduce "Perfect Celebrity" as "a little bit of retaliation against [herself]."
Gaga also revealed that the process of making MAYHEM was more liberating than her past experiences, saying that she "started just feeling and allowing [herself] to just be free." And while not every track on the album was completed so quickly, her most recent hit single "Abracadabra," only took about half an hour to write.
Gaga also spoke about her fiancé, Michael Polanksy's, proposal, which inspired the track "Blade of Grass," as well as her future as a mother, saying "I think music will be a part of our child's life."
As for the chart-topping track, "Die With a Smile," with Bruno Mars, Gaga spoke about being at the studio "until five in the morning."
Finally, she reflected on her choice to take part in A Star is Born. "I like to take a shot. I like a little bit of danger...'Cause then you can surprise yourself."

Lady Gaga Takes Home iHeart Radio Innovator Award

Lady Gaga received the Innovator Award, which is presented to artists for their contributions to popular culture, at the iHeart Radio Music Awards on March 17, 2025.
Gaga also won the award for Best Collaboration for her Billboard Hot 100-topping, Grammy-winning duet with Bruno Mars, "Die With a Smile."

Gaga started her speech by praising Doechii, who presented her the award.

She promised fans that while some people think being 38 is too old to be a pop star, she's just warming up.
"I don't know totally how to think about this, because winning an award honoring my entire career at 38 years old is a hard thing to get my head around. On the one hand, I feel like I've been doing this forever, and on the other hand, I know I'm just getting started," Gaga said.
She declared that innovation isn't about breaking rules, it's about writing your own and convincing the world they were there all along.
"If I've learned anything in three decades I've been at this, it's that the most powerful innovation is your authenticity," Gaga said.
She shouted out her inspirations: David Bowie, Grace Jones, Carole King, Elton John, Lady Starlight, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Duke Ellington, Cher and Tony Bennett, some of which influenced her seventh studio album, "MAYHEM."
Gaga rounded out her speech by thanking her Little Monsters.
"Thank you for always seeing me so clearly, from 'The Fame' to 'MAYHEM.' Because you saw me, I learned to see myself. And to the LGBTQ+ community, you taught me bravery before the world was ready to listen. You have changed the world for the better and your courage fuels mine every single day," she said.
Her final words were, "The world doesn't need another copy. It desperately needs your original."

Lady Gaga's 'MAYHEM' Tops Billboard Album Chart

Lady Gaga's new album "MAYHEM" debuts atop the Billboard 200, becoming her seventh No. 1 album in the United States.
The album debuts with 219,000 units, including 108.05 million streams and 136,000 pure sales. "MAYHEM" earns the biggest debut for a female artist this year and becomes Gaga's best streaming week ever.
"MAYHEM" joins "Born This Way," "ARTPOP," "Cheek to Cheek" (with Tony Bennett), "Joanne," "A Star Is Born" (with Bradley Cooper) and "Chromatica" to become her seventh No. 1 album on the chart. Overall, "MAYHEM" is Gaga's eleventh Top 10 album.
According to United World Chart, "MAYHEM" sold more than 362,000 units around the world in its first week, becoming the best selling album worldwide. The album has already debuted at No. 1 in the U.K., Australia, Germany, Italy, and over a half dozen more countries.
Nine "MAYHEM" tracks appeared on this week's Billboard Hot 100, making it her album with the most charting songs:

Lady Gaga surprised Little Monsters at the Mastercard "Abracadabra" dance contest.
The winners thought they were attending a class to learn the "Abracadabra" dance, little did they know Gaga was watching behind a mirror to surprise the fans.
The contest, held by Mastercard, invited fans to submit videos of them dancing to the critically-acclaimed song from Gaga's seventh studio album "MAYHEM".
A handful of dancers were chosen as winners for the contest and flown out to learn the iconic dance, choreographed by Parris Goebel. The fans danced alongside China Taylor, Gaga's longtime dancer and friend.
The fans were then invited to attend Gaga's "Club MAYHEM", a dance party created in collaboration with Mastercard to celebrate the release of the new album.

Lady Gaga Launches "Club MAYHEM" Dance Party With Mastercard

Little Monsters danced the night away at Lady Gaga's "Club MAYHEM" in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 13.
The experience, brought to life in partnership with Mastercard, invites Little Monsters to celebrate the release of Gaga's new album at an exclusive dance party.
Gaga and Parris Goebel, choreographer for "Abracadabra", were there to greet fans inside the club. The event featured food and beverages themed to Gaga's seventh studio album, as well as a red throne used for a photo opportunity to promote the album.
Fans outside of Los Angeles were able to take part and watch live updates on Mastercard's Instagram.
Lady Gaga's seventh studio album, "MAYHEM," was released last week and has been met with great critical reception.

Lady Gaga Announces Series of Singapore Concerts

Lady Gaga will return to Singapore this May to perform a series of concerts in promotion of "MAYHEM."
Gaga is set to take the stage at the Singapore National Stadium on May 18-19, May 21 and May 24. According to its press release, these will be the only stop in Asia for Lady Gaga’s upcoming tour.

The Mastercard presale begins Tuesday, March 18, followed by the Klook presale on March 19, and KrisFlyer and LiveNation presales on March 20. The general onsale is Friday, March 21. Visit here for more information.
Earlier this month, Gaga announced her return to Mexico City, performing at Estadio GNP Seguros on April 26.
Gaga was previously announced as a headliner for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, taking the stage on Friday, April 11 and 18.
Last month, Gaga was announced as the headliner for "Todo Mundo No Rio," the free concert taking place on May 3 in Copacabana.

Lady Gaga Brings 'MAYHEM' to 'SNL'

Lady Gaga dazzled in her second double-duty performance on the March 8 episode "Saturday Night Live," where she debuted live performances of two songs from her recently released album, "MAYHEM."

Gaga's opening monologue poked fun at her 2013 'SNL' performance of "Do What U Want" with R. Kelly, as well as her Razzie Awards win for Worst On Screen Combo in "Joker: Folie a Deux."
Many of Gaga's sketches featured musical elements. She and Bowen Yang played a couple who burst into song on their first date in "Wonderful Tonight," and they reunited at the end of the episode to put an end to modern lingo in "No More Slay."
Her other live sketches include:
"Funeral Home": Gaga and Heidi Gardner act as funeral home owners with a vision for their clients.
"A Long Goodbye": Gaga's ex pursues her on a piece of motorized luggage.
"LIttle Red Glasses": Gaga plays an older woman showing off her glasses.
"Birthday at Friendly's": Mayhem erupts at a dinner when the restaurant staff learn a guest lied about her birthday.
Gaga also appeared in pre-filmed sketches, including a commercial for extra runny mascara and a short film about a tiny mouse.

Lady Gaga opens up about the beautiful chaos of artistry with The New York Times"

In a new interview with The New York Times, Lady Gaga shares some thoughts about the character of the sound of her latest album "MAYHEM" :
"My sound is an amalgamation of the music that helped me fall in love with music. So it’s got classic rock in it, disco, electronic music, ’80s synth. It’s sort of like picking and choosing my favorite fragments of songs that I loved throughout my childhood. It is everything I love about music but all in one place."

During the interview, Lady Gaga agreed with Chappel Roan’s Grammy speech, in which she criticised record labels for failing to provide artists with healthcare or a living wage:
“I think Chappell Roan is speaking the truth, and she is courageous to do so.”
Gaga revealed that she nearly turned the whole record into a grunge album, but Michael, her fiancée, convinced her otherwise:
" There was one point where I almost turned the whole album into a grunge record.
He talked you out of that? I would have listened to that! There’s plenty of grunge on the album. It was right after I did “Perfect Celebrity,” that song, and I was like, “Oh, everything should be this,” and he said, but there’s so much other amazing music that you’ve made, and it’s all you. You don’t have to try to be something. I thought that was really astute, and I was happy it happened because often I will run with my crazy idea and then sometimes regret that."
On Finding Happiness: “I feel a lot more at ease with my artistry and also comfortable creating some boundaries around how to prioritize things.”
Lady Gaga also acknowledges the important role of her fans, the Little Monsters:
"They give me so much strength.They remind me of who I really am."

Later on in the interview, the artist opened up about her mental health issues for a period of 5 years:
"Yeah, I mean, I had psychosis. I was not deeply in touch with reality for a while. It took me out of life in a big way, and after a lot of years of hard work I got myself back. It was a hard time, and it was actually really special when I met my partner because when I met Michael, I was in a much better place, but I remember him saying to me, pretty early on, “I know you could be a lot happier than you are.” It was really hard for me to hear him say that because I didn’t want him to think that of me. I wanted him to think I was like this happy, totally together person."

Gaga again expressed her wish to become a mother:
"I would love to have kids one day. I’m excited to be a mom. I used to have a lot of apprehension about it. The thing that’s the most important to me is to not force my children to live a life that they are not choosing. So the more that we can give them space to discover who they are on their own, that’s the thing that I believe in the most. If our children only understand Mommy’s job, that’s a very narrow view of life. There’s so much in the world, and I want them to be able to choose for themselves who they want to be."

Lady Gaga adds second Mexico City concert.

Due to high demand, Lady Gaga has added a second concert date in Mexico City following the release of “MAYHEM”. The second show was added just one day after the first date sold out, and before the general sale began.
Gaga will perform on April 26th and 27th at the Estadio GNP Seguros, and is among the first dates where songs from Gaga’s seventh studio album will be performed.
Gaga had previously been announced as the headliner for the Coachella Valley and Arts Festival and will be taking stage on April 11 and 18.
Gaga announced her return to Mexico on March 3rd. Tickets will go on sale starting March 11th.

Vogue Interviews Lady Gaga about 'MAYHEM' and Her Artistry

Lady Gaga spoke to Vogue about her artistry and her brand new album "MAYHEM."
Gaga talked about different feelings behind the songs on "MAYHEM":
"I allowed myself to be lots of contradictory things, and I think that’s real. 'Blade of Grass,' in a way, has a lot of insecurity in it, and 'Killah' has none. But I’m definitely the same person and I definitely have both of those feelings."
Speaking about the meta element in "Perfect Celebrity," she added:
"It’s an angry song; I’m angry at myself. It felt like a song that had been inside of me for 15 years that I needed to get out. I’m still nervous for people to hear it. ... Because my life changed so much when I was in my early 20s, it took some of the realness of life away from me, and that really changed my songwriting. Now, as I’ve gotten older, I value my artistry before fame. Having an amazing relationship now—closer friendships, more time with family, and a more grounded life—has helped my writing and helped me think about fame in a different way. But [“Perfect Celebrity”] still came out in the way that it did, and I didn’t want to change it too much. I felt myself judging myself while I was writing, but then I was like, nope—just be honest! Because I really wanted Mayhem to be honest in all of its craziness."
Speaking about her Coachella comeback, she teased:
“I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.”

Rolling Stone Interviews Lady Gaga about 'MAYHEM'

Lady Gaga was interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine, where she described the creative process behind her brand-new album "MAYHEM."
Speaking about her inspiration for the album, Gaga mentioned "The Fame Monster" and "Born This Way," adding:
“I wanted to traverse old ground while breaking new ground, which I think is hard to do. There are a few moments on the album where some people might say, ‘Oh, that reminds me of this,’ because I do have a style, but I made an effort musically to push myself to a new place.”
She also shared what "MAYHEM" is about:
“'MAYHEM,' to me, is ultimately about resilience and also chaos. We need to be resilient through chaos. So, it’s both. I do think I explored more sonically with bitterness on this album in a way that maybe I didn’t with some of my earlier records.”
Talking about how the album ends with two love songs, she said:
“So it was eerie, tense, really ominous chords. But then (‘Blade of Grass’ and) ‘Die With A Smile’ are really hopeful, dreamy, and classic, and that’s where the mayhem ultimately ends. The beauty of the album is that the mayhem doesn’t repeat. It ends.”

Billboard Interviews Lady Gaga About the Making of 'MAYHEM'

In a new interview with Billboard, Lady Gaga shares the process of making her latest studio album "MAYHEM," her connection with Little Monsters and the success of "Die With A Smile."
Talking about the weight of expectations, Gaga said:
“Ever since my first album, I listened to what people would say. ‘Will she outdo herself? Can she top herself? Can she live up to this? She needs to evolve; she hasn’t changed enough.’ There was a lot of noise.”
Speaking about co-executive producer Andrew Watt and collaborators like Cirkut and Gesaffelstein, she added:
“I think what I look for in collaborators are people who will uplift me as a woman in the studio and follow my vision. I tried, musically, to work with people with whom I could push myself—so that it wouldn’t be exactly what you’ve heard from me before, but there is the DNA of my approach to pop music.”

Lady Gaga Talks 'MAYHEM' with Zane Lowe

Nothing was off the table in Lady Gaga's interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, where she talked about what "MAYHEM" means to her and described some of her soon-to-be-released new songs.

On "MAYHEM":
Gaga described "MAYHEM" as her favorite record in a long time. "I feel like it has some teeth," she said.
She talked about how she was able to be a student on music with "MAYHEM," which allowed her to figure out her own personal mayhem. The album was inspired out of loving music and sounds that she studied for at least a decade, allowing her to embrace the mayhem of being a nonlinear, cross-genre artist who combines a lot of things at once.
"'ARTPOP' was a vibe. 'Joanne' was a sound, 'Chromatica' had a sound, all different. 'The Fame Monster' was more chaotic, 'The Fame' was theatrical pop, 'Born This Way' to me had more of a metal-electro-New York vibe to it, so I actually made the effort making 'MAYHEM' to not do that and not try to give my music an outfit, but instead to allow myself to be influenced by everything," she explained.
"It's completely me, and it's my gift to my fans," she said.
Touching on the success of "Abracadabra," Gaga said she thinks the song is very much her sound, something that she honed in after many years.
She said part of what made its music video so special was the community it fostered: "I spent real time learning that choreography, working with Parris [Goebel] and working with those dancers, and I got to. be in their community while we made it, and I felt like I belonged. That feeling made me so happy."
She went into detail on some of the new songs on the album, as well.
She revealed that "Perfect Celebrity" was the working title of the album before it was "MAYHEM." "Perfect Celebrity," the song, is a 90s-inspired "electro-grunge" track about how she dealt with the anger she felt toward herself as it relates to the desire for fame.
While the song is "super angry," she also described it as humorous, specifically the lyrics: "I've become a notorious being . Find my clone, she's asleep on the ceiling."
"It's almost comical, this idea that any time I'm in the room wit anyone, there's me, Stefani, and Lady Gaga asleep on the ceiling, and I have to figure out which body to be in," she said.

"Shadow of a Man," the song teased at the end of "GAGA Chromatica Ball," is a defiant, fun and powerful song about being a woman in music.
"That song is so much ha response to my career and what it always felt like to be the only girl in the room a lot of the time, and to always be standing in the shadow of a man, because there were so many around me that I learned how to dance in that shadow," she described.
"The Beast," the 12th track on the album, takes the perspective of someone singing to their werewolf lover, but Gaga said it can be applied to her relationship with her fiancé Michael, as well as her relationship to who she is on stage.
"It's somebody that is saying to the beast, 'I know you're a monster but I can handle you, and I love you,'" she said.

"Blade of Grass" calls back to her relationship with Michael. She described how she told him she'd marry him if he proposed with a blade of grass, and she detailed how they built a friendship over how to share one another's mayhem.
"My home used to only be the stage. It was so lonely, and also, it is so much more fun to take somebody out there with you, someone that loves you, that knows what you're capable of in all the various aspects of life," she said.
In terms of other songs, Gaga revealed "Garden of Eden" is a 2000s throwback and webstore-exclusive track "Can't Stop The High" is "a pure electro-grunge record that goes even harder than 'Perfect Celebrity' does." Lowe said "Zombieboy" is "crazy fun."
At the end of the interview, Gaga said she feels like she's firing on all cylinders, and she revealed she has a desire to tour "MAYHEM" after her performance at Coachella next month.

Lady Gaga Teases New "Garden of Eden" Snippet in ESPNF1 Promo

Less than 48 hours before the release of here seventh studio album, MAYHEM, Lady Gaga shared a 30-second snippet of a new track: "Garden of Eden."
The song, which she reshared on Instagram stories, is featured in a promo for ESPNF1, and according to ESPN's caption, will serve as the anthem for their coverage of the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Fans can look forward to hearing more on March 7, when MAYHEM becomes available everywhere.

Lady Gaga Announces "GAGA Radio" For SiriusXM

Lady Gaga is set to debut an exclusive pop-up channel GAGA RADIO, on SiriusXM to celebrate the release of her seventh studio album, MAYHEM.

The station will showcase new tracks from the album alongside songs from legendary artists such as David Bowie, Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Ella Fitzgerald, Prince, Madonna, Elton John, Queen, Tony Bennett, and more.
Additionally, listeners will get exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into the making of her new album.

"GAGA RADIO" will be available to subscribers in their cars on channel 15 from now through March 17, and on the SiriusXM app through April 2.

"MAYHEM," Lady Gaga's Seventh Studio Album, is Out Now

After many months of promotion and anticipation, Lady Gaga has released her seventh studio album, "MAYHEM."
Fans can now listen to Mother Monster's latest work on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.
The album features 14 total tracks including chart-toppers, like "Abracadabra" and "Disease," plus "Die With a Smile" ft. Bruno Mars, which already earned a Grammy for "Best Pop Duo/Group" at the Grammy Awards earlier this year.
Exclusive versions of the album on Lady Gaga's official shop also feature a 15th track called "Can’t Stop The High," while Target-exclusive versions contain the song "Kill For Love" instead.
"MAYHEM" is Lady Gaga's latest release since "Harlequin," a companion album she released in September 2024 accompanying her role in the film "Joker: Folie à Deux."
Prior to that, Gaga's last true studio album, "Chromatica," released nearly five years ago on May 29, 2020.
Gaga began teasing "MAYHEM" back in January 2024 with a series of photos of herself in the studio.
She then gave us confirmation of "LG7" on May 25, 2024 at the end of "Gaga Chromatica Ball," the long-awaited concert film from her "Chromatica Ball Tour." The announcement "GAGA RETURNS" included a snippet of a new track.
Finally, "Disease," the album's lead single, was released on October 25, 2024.
Fans can soon experience "MAYHEM" live as Gaga has already confirmed a number of shows including headlining Coachella, a performance in Mexico City and a massive return to Brazil for "Todo Mundo No Rio" on Copacabana Beach.

Lady Gaga will return to Mexico City next month to give one of the first concert performances of the "MAYHEM" era.

Gaga was previously announced as a headliner for Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, taking the stage on Friday, April 11 and 18.

Lady Gaga’s official store has added new ‘MAYHEM’ merchandise ahead of the album’s release this Friday.
Two new ‘MAYHEM’ vinyl variants have been added to her official store: a picture disc and zoetrope vinyl.


A standard ‘MAYHEM’ cassette has been added to her U.S. store, while her U.K. store added a bundle of three cassette variants alongside a signed art card. (add links)

Just a few days after MAYHEM's global premiere on March 7th, Lady Gaga is scheduled to appear at Howard Stern's radio show for a yet unspecified performance.

Lady Gaga to Appear on 'Good Morning America'

To celebrate the release of "Mayhem," Lady Gaga will appear on "Good Morning America" next Friday, March 7.
Gaga is slated to discuss her long-awaited seventh studio album, which will be released the same day as her "Good Morning America" appearance.
The episode will air live on ABC from 7-9 a.m. EST on March 7, though the exact time of Gaga's interview is unknown.

Her "GMA" appearance is just one of many "Mayhem"-related events over its release weekend. On Thursday, March 6, Spotify's Little Monster Press Conference will air on Spotify's Instagram, TikTok and YouTube channels.
Then, on Saturday, March 8, Gaga is pulling double duty on "Saturday Night Live," where she will host and perform.
