2018 Patron Artist's Award

Accepting the Artists Inspiration Award for her philanthropy, Lady Gaga attended the SAG AFTRA Foundation's Patron Artists Awards in a full look from Christian Dior. Complementing her pale pink look, Sarah Tanno kept her makeup extremely light and Frederic Aspiras combed her natural hair into a simple updo.
Designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, who's Dior debut was just recently in 2017, Lady Gaga wears look 20 from the Fall 2018 Haute Couture collection. The collection was entirely devoted to the precious dignity of beautiful but quiet clothes, pieces sculpted and pleated and constructed which her dress exemplifies.
The strapless dress creates a beautiful silhouette with boning inside the bustier and a small belt around the waist. The skirt is finished with a flare that was tea-length on the runway but worn as more of a floor length gown on Mother Monster.
Paired with her Dior dress, Lady Gaga wore "Sweet-D Pumps" also from Dior in powder pink calfskin leather. The sling back pumps are complete with a bow along the side of the straps, unfortunately they are not available for purchase online. However, a shorter heeled version is available on Dior's website.
Finally, to accessorize her dainty Dior look, Lady Gaga added Peach Morganite stud earrings from Le Vian. Her exact pair are not included in Le Vian's online catalogue however.

A Star Is Born 2019 Awards Season Submissions

Warner Bros. has officially submitted A Star Is Born for consideration this upcoming Awards Season including The Oscars. The movies was suggested for 15 categories.
Lady Gaga has been sent for Best Actress, and the movie as Original Picture. Previously, three songs from the soundtrack were submitted for the Best Original Song category:  Always Remember Us This Way, I’ll Never Love Again (Film Version), and Shallow. But as of November 2, Warner Bros. has updated their Best Original Song submissions to just Shallow.
With three songs submitted, only two could be nominated for the Best Original Song category. With the slight chance of that occurring, the votes would likely be split against herself resulting in a loss which is most likely why Warner Bros. has decided on just one consideration.
The Official Academy Nominations will be announced earlier next year, but in the meantime we wish Lady Gaga and the rest of the cast the best of luck!

Lady Gaga: "Today I wear the pants".

Lady Gaga attended ELLE’s 25th annual Women in Hollywood event yesterday in Beverly Hills. She was one of many women honoured, along with fellow November Elle issue cover stars Shonda Rhimes, Sarah Paulson, Charlize Theron, Yara Shahidi, Angela Bassett, Keira Knightley, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong'o, and Mia Farrow.
Gaga walked the carpet in a statement piece by Marc Jacobs accompanied with Giuseppe Zanotti heels. She ultimately decided to wear this over-sized men's suit to make a stand against what Hollywood expects women to appear as. 
Mentioning in her speech below, she says:
"I tried on dress after dress today getting ready for this event, one tight corset after another, one heel after another, a diamond, a feather, thousands of beaded fabrics, and the most beautiful silks in the world. But to be honest, I felt sick to my stomach. And i asked myself, 'What does it mean to be a woman in Hollywood?' We are not just objects to entertain the world. We are not members of a giant beauty pageant meant to be pit against one another for the pleasure of the public. We, women in Hollywood, we are voices. We have deep thoughts and ideas and beliefs and values about the world and we have the power to speak and be heard and fight back when we are silenced."


Gaga made a long acceptance speech, opening up about mental health, her own sexual assault, and encouraged women to lift each other up using their voices. She also confirmed her engagement to Christian Carino following tons of speculation. Jennifer Lopez presented the award to Gaga.

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's upcoming film with will be in theatres worldwide in less than 2 months, and we can exclusively reveal all the details about its soundtrack release. The soundtrack will feature all original music written specifically for the film, performed by both Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. 
The 'A Star is Born' Soundtrack will be released on all digital platforms and also have a physical release. The digital version will contain 19 tracks, and the CD will also feature additional audio from the movie. Pre-orders will be available from the August 30th, and the worldwide soundtrack release is scheduled for October 5th. There are no plans to release any single before the movie release, also scheduled for October.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper interviewed for EW's Fall

Bradley Cooper was warned. Friends discouraged the American Sniper star from choosing A Star Is Born as his directorial debut.
Aside from it being one of a handful of takes on the tragic romance, the project had stalled for years in Hollywood, attracting directors and stars like Clint Eastwood and Beyoncé, respectively. “I had a lot of people tell me, ‘Please don’t do this’ — people I respect and who care about me,” says Cooper, 43, on a hot afternoon in the Hollywood Hills while being interviewed for this week’s cover of Entertainment Weekly.

“I just knew this could be the end of everything if it doesn’t work. It’s like, ‘Who’s this guy making the fourth [version] of this movie? Shut up already.’ But I still could not deny what I felt deep down, and that’s why it was this movie. It sort of ignited something in me.”
The actor admits this is a story that’s been building in him since his childhood. “I used to write songs — that’s like the first time I’ve ever said that,” reveals Cooper.
“I used to always hear verses and songs in my head as a kid. And I wrote a couple down. I’m talking from like [age] 8 to like 19. So I knew that there was something that I hadn’t pursued that maybe I could actualize one day in a movie.”
Cooper’s Born, in theaters Oct. 5, charts the tumultuous relationship between alcoholic rock star Jackson Maine and burgeoning singer-songwriter Ally, played by pop icon Lady Gaga, 32. As Jackson falls deeper into addiction, Ally blazes a path toward superstardom. Much in the way Jackson helps lift Ally, Cooper has directed Gaga to her most accomplished and dramatic performance to date. “It just has changed me,” says Gaga of Born.

Cooper, who also co-wrote the script with Eric Roth and Will Fetters, has reshaped the story into an exhilarating, emotional rock epic with electric performance scenes shot at real festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury.
“I never wanted to be in the crowd,” says Cooper of his decision to have the cameras on stage with the actors. “I always wanted the audience to feel what it would be like if you were the person performing.”

Born features a stirring original score (collaborators include producer Mark Ronson, singer Jason Isbell, and Willie Nelson’s son Lukas), a career-best performance from the actor, and — yes — a career-redefining role for Gaga.
The film, which will world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, has already generated awards talk for its two leads. “I think the reason it’s so outstanding is because of the deal they made at the beginning,” explains producer Bill Gerber (Gran Torino). “She said, ‘People are gonna think you’re a rock star.’ And he said, ‘People are gonna think you’re an actress.’ They both accomplished what they said they would do.”
The pair’s electricity on and off screen is undeniable as is their bond. “I think the biggest thing I learned is that sky’s the limit if you find a companion artistically, and you have a project,” says Cooper of working with Gaga.
“There is no dreaming too big. What people can do together is so much more powerful than what they can do by themselves.” Adds Gaga, “I think what I learned from Bradley [is] it’s okay to be relentlessly sure of your vision, and to go after it with every fiber of your being, and to never stop white gloving what you’re making. Sometimes, as an artist, I second-guess myself when I go, ‘Am I pulling the thread? Am I unraveling the whole blanket now? Do I need to stop?’ It’s changed the way that I work today.”

Lady Gaga registers her beauty mark "Haus Beauty"

Lady Gaga’s company, Ate My Heart Inc., is currently moving forward to secure a trademark for a new brand of cosmetics called “Haus Beauty.”
While the singer already has a full haus with her Haus of Gaga creative team, Haus Beauty is seemingly an entirely new undertaking.
Haus Beauty will apparently run the cosmetics gamut, from foundation, eyeliners, shadows and lipsticks to other products.
The “Joanne” star has been looking to diversify her portfolio lately, as she also has been trying to debut a line of signature wines inspired by her family’s Italian restaurant.

Boys Noize says he wrote a hit with Lady Gaga

Boys Noize says he wrote a hit with Lady Gaga. Speaking to Boiler Room, the German electronic music producer and DJ, real name Alexander Ridha, praised the “Million Reasons” singer as one of the most down-to-earth artists he has ever worked with and revealed that they recorded a song for one of Gaga’s upcoming projects.
“[Lady Gaga] is so cool,” he said. “She is definitely one of the coolest artists I met that is ridiculously famous, but so down to the ground. She asked me, ‘You know [UK techno DJ] Surgeon?’ and I was like, ‘Are you f—ing with me?’, and she was like ‘Yeah, he’s my friend, he opened some of my shows.'”
He continued: “She’s down to techno and what’s crazy is that she got into modular stuff too. I brought my modular system—and she spilled water on it, by the way—but it broke the ice and then we wrote a f—ing hit. But now she’s into modular, she bought a system, and we used that on some of her songs.”
Lady Gaga is currently busy working on at least three upcoming albums: a follow up to the 2014 jazz collection Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett, the soundtrack for her debut film A Star Is Born with Bradley Cooper, and her fifth solo studio album, which is rumored to be released in 2019.

SOPHIE and Lady Gaga are working on new music

It was speculated recently online, but now we have confirmation that this rumor is indeed true! Lady Gaga and Scottish singer, songwriter, producer and DJ, SOPHIE, are working together on new music for Gaga's upcoming sixth studio album. 
Fans met the Scottish artist, known for her unique electronic synthesized and hyperkinetic pop production, after a show recently and filmed while asking if she was working with Lady Gaga on her next album. She simply responded "yes", adding that she works on alot of music and if it comes out then it will be cool, but she can "never tell" when or if the music will be released, and that Gaga is a cool person. But fingers crossed this music sees the light of day!
SOPHIE joins fellow collaborators DJWS, BloodPop and Boys Noize who have all been hard at work recently in the studio making new music with Lady Gaga. There is no confirmation regarding when the album will be released, but a 2019 release seems most likely.

Lady Gaga is back in the studio with Boys Noize & BloodPop

Get ready, Little Monsters!
Lady Gaga has been hard at work in the studio crafting new music for a variety of upcoming projects. While not alot is known about the future releases, we can be certain that Mother Monster never disappoints! 
On Wednesday evening, German electronic music producer and Dj 'Boys Noize' tweeted this, prompting an exchange of tweets between the pair:
But things were resolved quickly, as explained in a reply from Gaga:

Beautiful weirdness? Sounds very intriguing! It is unclear what project their music is for, but chances are the pair are hard at work for Lady Gaga's upcoming sixth studio album, dubbed "LG6". Other confirmed collaborators include Dj White Shadow & Nick Monson. 
But it doesn't end there. 
On Thursday night, BloodPop® posted a picture of Gaga in a recording studio on his Instagram story. Following his work on various tracks from her fifth studio album "Joanne", it was revealed several months ago that the pair were collaborating for a new track said to be BloodPop® featuring Gaga (as opposed to being a track with Gaga as the lead artist), so it is likely she was re-recording vocals and polishing the upcoming single. We aren't sure when it is due, but is safe to assume the wait shouldn't be too long as BloodPop® has liked a selection of tweets from fans asking about the track.

RedOne and Akon interviewed by EW about Lady Gaga's Just Dance for its 10th anniversary

Before the invasion of disco sticks and leotards, before Born This Way birthed a new breed of superfan and Joanne galloped away with the world’s collective heart, the first chapter in the legend of Lady Gaga’s career rested on little more than a throwback beat and a wide-eyed girl with nothing to lose and only pop cultural domination to gain.
Now, one decade after Gaga splashed onto the scene with her debut single “Just Dance” (and ushered in a new era of glistening electro-pop on mainstream radio), EW caught up with its creators — longtime Gaga producer RedOne and recording artist Akon, who helped launch Gaga’s career via his KonLive record label — to celebrate the track’s 10th birthday on April 8. Below, the pair dishes on the songwriting process that almost placed “Just Dance” in the hands of other artists, why Akon’s smooth, featured vocals were replaced by newcomer Colby O’Donis’ on the final version, and what the success of the song means to them.
[EW contacted Gaga’s team for an interview, but a representative indicated she was unavailable to contribute to this article.]
REDONE: At that time, I just did my first hit with Kat DeLuna called “Whine Up.” After that hit, I told my management that I wanted to work with established artists. But they called me and said, “Hey, we [want you to work with] this girl…. She’s talented if you want to meet her for five minutes.”…. I met her outside of the Sony building in New York, and I liked the vibe I was getting! She was like, “Oh my God, I love ‘Whine Up!’” [Laughs]. In those five minutes, I felt like she was so special. And those five minutes turned into a few sessions. [Despite multiple attempts, EW could not reach Vincent Herbert for comment.]
REDONE: We were talking about rock like Mötley Crüe, you know, “Girls, girls, girls!” but we needed “Boys, boys, boys!” instead…and that created the sounds for the whole album. For “Just Dance,” I wanted to do a rock song with big drums but instead of guitars, it’s synths. That’s what “Just Dance” is! The opening [synths] are like a guitar chord…. [I began] taking her to every session I had with other artists, too, but as a writer. And every artist got scared of her and asked me to not bring her again. I remember telling her, “Gaga, you’re an incredible artist and they feel your energy!” She was so creative, giving them ideas about how to dress and how to behave, and they started feeling so small. And Gaga started crying, like, “I just want to help them!” I said, “Yes, but keep those ideas for yourself. You’re an incredible artist.” In one of those sessions, I presented her to an [industry friend] named Efe, and the first time I played her music he was like, “Oh my God, this girl is the next Madonna!”
AKON: I [was struck by] her in general. When I see a star, I just know it. From the moment she walked in [for our first meeting], her appearance and her attitude felt brand new and fresh. She was so fearless. When I [had discussions with] Jimmy Iovine, from that moment everything ignited. We got excited about her, started making records, and started to craft her image. At that time, she was doing jazz-type music, and I think she needed someone to hear it all the way out and see what made sense with her idea, her look, and then pairing her with music that meshed it all into one platform.
REDONE: After that, we did all the [iconic] songs: “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “LoveGame”…and Akon said, “Red, hold on to that file. Don’t give it to anybody until I come for it, because I want to take these songs to Jimmy so we can make her a priority!”
AKON: I was contracted to do songs for The Pussycat Dolls and I had writer’s block the day of, so I asked RedOne if we could collaborate together to open our minds…and “Just Dance” was originally going to be submitted for The Pussycat Dolls. When we finished, there was no way “Just Dance” could be for them.
REDONE: We met with Jimmy and he heard the songs. He said, “I love the song. Can I give [it] to The Pussycat Dolls?” And Akon was like, “No! It’s Gaga! She can be the next big thing!” Jimmy said, “Okay, but one thing: I have a problem with [Gaga’s similarities to] her highness.” I was like, “Who is her highness?” And he said, “Gwen Stefani. She reminds me of Gwen Stefani.’” And Akon goes, “No, she’s totally different!” [EW spoke to Iovine. Though he did not want to be quoted directly for this story, he felt that both Akon and RedOne were correct in expressing a desire to keep the song for Gaga.]
AKON: Literally every song that we wrote was done within 30 minutes to an hour. It was all chemistry. The Fame was done in 30 days: mixed, mastered, and ready to push out. That was another reason I was so excited about working with her, because the ideas and things she sparked were so fresh. We opened our minds and tried everything. No bars, no barriers, whatever we felt that felt good, whatever we wanted to say, we said it. It was the first time she had no one telling her what she should be doing or how she should be doing it.
REDONE: She reminded me of an artist who was the whole inspiration of the Gaga sound — her name is Leila K, from Sweden back in the day. I said, “Gaga, I want to play for you this artist because if we can do what she did and make it now, it can change the world.” That’s how I wanted to do an album that was different at the time for everybody — with synths, big drums, big hooks — but with the attitude of Gaga inspired by Leila K.
AKON: I featured on the song originally, but Universal didn’t clear my vocals. [Several contacts at Universal and Interscope did not respond to EW’s request for comment.] It was a crazy moment…so I got Colby O’Donis to feature on it and do my verse. But, I kept my background vocals on the song, because background vocals aren’t considered a “feature.” There was a lot of politics going on, a huge competition between Interscope and [parent company] Universal, and I like to think that because I claimed my record deal at Interscope instead of [directly with] Universal, where I was actually signed as an artist, they were kind of getting me back for that. It was so political that I didn’t want to fight it. The song was done, finished, ready to go all the way until two days before we shot the video, and that’s when we got the notice that we couldn’t get clearance. It was a huge shock to Gaga [because] this was her first megaproject and her first real moment! [O’Donis did not respond to requests for comment.]
REDONE: The melody is so good anyway. Whoever heard it didn’t care if it was Akon or not. They just heard a good song. It was written as a good song.
REDONE: We dropped it [on April 8, 2008], and it took a long time for people to love it. It wasn’t accepted in America, [but] she became No. 3 right away in Sweden because that’s the country of pop and they loved it!
AKON: My motto has always been to not put a label on any record, and let it find its own audience. That was one of the biggest challenges, even in the beginning, and why it took so long for it to hit on radio. We tried working radio in the U.S., and they didn’t bite because it was an ‘80s-sounding record, and that wasn’t the [popular] sound at that time. “Just Dance” didn’t fit the  format. It wasn’t a song that a DJ could play before or after any song that was a top hit at that moment.
We flew out to the U.K. and tried to do things over there, but it didn’t work. When we went to Canada, that’s when it hit. There’s an international crowd there that’s more daring as far as what they’re willing to listen to [and] Gaga whipped their airwaves. Then, the U.S. caught it and it changed the whole game and created a new movement, [especially] on the West Coast and in San Francisco, where the crowds were really eclectic and gave her a shot. The gay community was the one that actually was like, “This record is a f—ing anthem!” and they supported her from that moment, and that became her core audience. From there, everyone else caught the wave.
AKON: Everything on the radio sounded exactly the same…you had a brand new artist coming out with something fresh! [We didn’t] try to A&R it. We let the audience choose. That was [what I said] to every station that I went to. I was like, “I know you guys have a specific playlist that you set up, but can this one record that doesn’t sound like anything else be chosen by the audience? Just give us a fair shot! You don’t have to give us a full-time rotation, just play it one time a week. Give it to the audience raw and let them make the decision!” It took almost a year to pop [in the U.S.] When we did the Interscope promo tour, we didn’t get a full [run], so I took her on my personal promo tour for my album. We couldn’t give up. I refused to because I knew she was a big star; it was just a matter of the stations giving her a fair chance. I’m happy I did that. At the end of the day, it opened up for a new genre and wave of music. It was worth the fight!
REDONE: Every time I hear it, it’s like yesterday. It’s so beautiful. It’s the song that changed our lives. The lyrics are Gaga. I can’t take any credit for the genius lyrics. It comes to her so fast. I love perfection and she gives you perfection every time. She’s a machine! It spoiled me because everybody I was working with that was talented and globally known, they [couldn’t] match how Gaga spoiled me with class and genius lyrics. I helped her with words here and there, but I can’t say I wrote or co-wrote the “Just Dance” lyrics. but I can take credit for melodies, chord progressions, and production.
AKON: The artists that have the door open to be themselves are the ones that win. Their opinions should be the first thing that matters. The moment record companies get involved and try to tell you to go in one direction for this sound or to try something else for a certain amount of hit records, that’s bulls—t. Lady Gaga’s Manager reacts to Las Vegas' residency critics

A video surfaced online of Lady Gaga’s manager, Bobby Campbell, being asked if the Joanne World Tour was coming to Asia and Latin America and fans all over the world were quick to react to his answer.
In Spanish, Bobby replied “no,” but mistakingly followed up with “Come to Vegas” when he meant to say “We’ll be in Vegas.” This sent Latin American fans into a frenzy.
Bobby reacted to the controversy today on his Instagram account and apologized for his misuse of the language stating that his Spanish isn’t perfect and that he is sorry.

During last night's countdown to the new year on CNN, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen interviewed singer Celine Dion live from her residency in Las Vegas.
Celine was asked by Andy if she had any advice for Lady Gaga since she would be bringing her own show to Las Vegas next year. Celine replied with, "No, first of all this girl knows exactly what she's doing." She continued by praising Lady Gaga and saying she doesn't need to tell someone as talented as her how to do things and that she can't wait to see her show.

Frederic Aspiras Talks About The 5000 Wigs He Made For Lady Gaga

Billboard talks with Lady Gaga’s hairstylist, Frederic Aspiras, who revealed some inspirations and methods he used to cultivate and attune Lady Gaga to every persona she portrayed for the last decade. Read and excerpt of the interview below.
"You can change a person's attitude, mood, and day just by the way the way they feel through their hair."
"I was really nervous because I hadn't done a lot of makeup at the time. The kind of generosity he had as an artist was something I really identified with," Aspiras recalls with Billboard. "I didn't really show off my work and style but I really wanted to merge the two. I'm my own role model because we all strive to do better. In no way have I become a master of hair and I'm learning all the time, but I also have a lot to give back and have a lot of responsibility. This journey had really taught me to become a better person and artist."
Upon making the successful transition from San Francisco to Los Angeles as a celebrity hairstylist, Aspiras spent nearly four years working with Paris Hilton. He planned on taking a vacation after touring with Hilton -- until he received a call from agent Kent Belden of The Only Agency, who asked if he would like to work with Lady Gaga in 2009. "I had just seen her on stage during an award show, and she needed somebody for her tour," Aspiras continues. 
"I said, 'Sure, why not, I would love to play with new hair.' I remember working for her the first night and she was so respectful of my ideas. I created one look for the Monster Ball tour, and before you know it, we were bouncing ideas off each other, creating every single look from there."
The duo has seen many wins during their career trajectories over the past decade.
"With Gaga and I, we respect each other's creative voices," he says. "And with that kind of respect coming from somebody you live for, you create that special bond, you never want to let that go. It brings out something really good in you. That's what friends do for each other."
 
Tell us about the collaboration process between you and Lady Gaga.
I look to her as an artist. So how we approach that is usually during meetings for a project. It's so important to listen to an artist, as she brings the inspiration out of you for her vision. I would need to create styles throughout [her shows] that contributed to her story. Sometimes I would recreate hairstyles on wigs so she can try out different hairstyles with different outfits. So I'm constantly [thinking of] new ideas I want to do with her in my studio.
What would you choose as the most memorable hairstyles you've created for Gaga over the years?
The most memorable moment was for the Venice Film Festival for A Star Is Born [last August]. I saw her step out of the hotel in her feathered dress and cried because it was so beautiful. There was a thunderstorm, I don't know what happened, but it was like a [Federico] Fellini movie scene! The next would have to be the [2017 Super Bowl halftime show] because it was monumental. It was such an important moment in her career so it had to be perfect! And her hair changed halfway. To watch it on playback was beautiful. 
Another one was the [2012] Born This Way world tour. We became family on that tour, spending day and night together. I created so many styles for it. I never got bored while we toured around the world three times. When we did American Horror Story: Hotel [in 2015], [makeup artist] Kim Ayers and I had to come up with something like 70-90 different hairstyles [for the singer's Countess character]. We were on set sometimes from five in the morning to three in the morning. It was really, really hard but rewarding.
How would you describe her current hair aesthetic? 
She is such a beautiful human being. Her aesthetic so far this year is something that reflects who we are now as artists. I can't speak for her, but I can say I'm a more comfortable stylist now because of her.
How do you decide when to use a wig versus her natural hair?
We don't decide. It depends based on the looks, style and color. And with things like hair extensions, people have realized they don't need to bleach their hair. If there is a time where I feel like it might damage her hair, I would suggest a wig, which looks just like her hair. 
So how many wigs do you think you two have amassed together?
She has some, but I have all the wigs. I had archived them through the years. I would say there are about 5,000. There's also a collection you can see in Las Vegas, and a lot of them are in New York.
What does Lady Gaga like to listen to while getting ready?
When she first walks in, I would probably play some Don Henley because you're sitting for so long. I would also bring in some Ace of Base. I would love to play ARTPOP -- it’s my favorite album. I would also play jazz like Tony Bennett, of course. She actually played for me when I went to receive my [Hairstylist of the Year honor at the Daily Front Row Awards in March], and I cried. We have a great time in the trailer talking to each other. It really is like a family.

Lady Gaga's TV shows win 3 Emmy Awards

Last night it was announced that some of the shows where Lady Gaga appeared won 3 Emmy Awards. Respectively, RuPaul's Drag Race episode 'Oh. My. Gaga!' won an Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing and Outstanding Costumes. The second Emmy was won thanks to her Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction. This is just 1 out of 6 nominations that Lady Gaga's Super Bowl performance received. Finally, her Carpool Karaoke episode won an Emmy in the Best Variety Special category.
Reminder: the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards are taking place in Los Angeles, California, on the 17th of September.
