On Monday night's episode of American Idol, host Ryan Seacrest asked judge Katy Perry if there was anyone she would love to collaborate with. Katy Perry first answered by saying she had so much respect for many artists including Madonna, but followed her answer with, "I love Gaga so much and I think she's such a beautiful mystical magical woman and I'd love to share the stage with her at some time."
Katy Perry's love for Lady Gaga has been around for some time. Recently while live streaming an episode of American Idol on Instagram Live, Bad Romance started playing during a segment and Katy Perry let her fans know, "by the way I stan Gaga, everybody, you can just calm down."

Lady Gaga’s Manager reacts to Las Vegas' residency critics

A video surfaced online of Lady Gaga’s manager, Bobby Campbell, being asked if the Joanne World Tour was coming to Asia and Latin America and fans all over the world were quick to react to his answer.
In Spanish, Bobby replied “no,” but mistakingly followed up with “Come to Vegas” when he meant to say “We’ll be in Vegas.” This sent Latin American fans into a frenzy.
Bobby reacted to the controversy today on his Instagram account and apologized for his misuse of the language stating that his Spanish isn’t perfect and that he is sorry.

Celine Dion praises Lady Gaga during New Years countdown

During last night's countdown to the new year on CNN, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen interviewed singer Celine Dion live from her residency in Las Vegas.
Celine was asked by Andy if she had any advice for Lady Gaga since she would be bringing her own show to Las Vegas next year. Celine replied with, "No, first of all this girl knows exactly what she's doing." She continued by praising Lady Gaga and saying she doesn't need to tell someone as talented as her how to do things and that she can't wait to see her show.
When Andy told Celine that he wanted to see her do a duet with Lady Gaga, Celine replied, "I would love that, I love her so much." Let's hope the two of them can get together and create some magic! Watch the full video below.

Frederic Aspiras Talks About The 5000 Wigs He Made For Lady Gaga

Billboard talks with Lady Gaga’s hairstylist, Frederic Aspiras, who revealed some inspirations and methods he used to cultivate and attune Lady Gaga to every persona she portrayed for the last decade. Read and excerpt of the interview below.
"You can change a person's attitude, mood, and day just by the way the way they feel through their hair."
"I was really nervous because I hadn't done a lot of makeup at the time. The kind of generosity he had as an artist was something I really identified with," Aspiras recalls with Billboard. "I didn't really show off my work and style but I really wanted to merge the two. I'm my own role model because we all strive to do better. In no way have I become a master of hair and I'm learning all the time, but I also have a lot to give back and have a lot of responsibility. This journey had really taught me to become a better person and artist."
Upon making the successful transition from San Francisco to Los Angeles as a celebrity hairstylist, Aspiras spent nearly four years working with Paris Hilton. He planned on taking a vacation after touring with Hilton -- until he received a call from agent Kent Belden of The Only Agency, who asked if he would like to work with Lady Gaga in 2009. "I had just seen her on stage during an award show, and she needed somebody for her tour," Aspiras continues. 
"I said, 'Sure, why not, I would love to play with new hair.' I remember working for her the first night and she was so respectful of my ideas. I created one look for the Monster Ball tour, and before you know it, we were bouncing ideas off each other, creating every single look from there."
The duo has seen many wins during their career trajectories over the past decade.
"With Gaga and I, we respect each other's creative voices," he says. "And with that kind of respect coming from somebody you live for, you create that special bond, you never want to let that go. It brings out something really good in you. That's what friends do for each other."
 
Tell us about the collaboration process between you and Lady Gaga.
I look to her as an artist. So how we approach that is usually during meetings for a project. It's so important to listen to an artist, as she brings the inspiration out of you for her vision. I would need to create styles throughout [her shows] that contributed to her story. Sometimes I would recreate hairstyles on wigs so she can try out different hairstyles with different outfits. So I'm constantly [thinking of] new ideas I want to do with her in my studio.
What would you choose as the most memorable hairstyles you've created for Gaga over the years?
The most memorable moment was for the Venice Film Festival for A Star Is Born [last August]. I saw her step out of the hotel in her feathered dress and cried because it was so beautiful. There was a thunderstorm, I don't know what happened, but it was like a [Federico] Fellini movie scene! The next would have to be the [2017 Super Bowl halftime show] because it was monumental. It was such an important moment in her career so it had to be perfect! And her hair changed halfway. To watch it on playback was beautiful. 
Another one was the [2012] Born This Way world tour. We became family on that tour, spending day and night together. I created so many styles for it. I never got bored while we toured around the world three times. When we did American Horror Story: Hotel [in 2015], [makeup artist] Kim Ayers and I had to come up with something like 70-90 different hairstyles [for the singer's Countess character]. We were on set sometimes from five in the morning to three in the morning. It was really, really hard but rewarding.
How would you describe her current hair aesthetic? 
She is such a beautiful human being. Her aesthetic so far this year is something that reflects who we are now as artists. I can't speak for her, but I can say I'm a more comfortable stylist now because of her.
How do you decide when to use a wig versus her natural hair?
We don't decide. It depends based on the looks, style and color. And with things like hair extensions, people have realized they don't need to bleach their hair. If there is a time where I feel like it might damage her hair, I would suggest a wig, which looks just like her hair. 
So how many wigs do you think you two have amassed together?
She has some, but I have all the wigs. I had archived them through the years. I would say there are about 5,000. There's also a collection you can see in Las Vegas, and a lot of them are in New York.
What does Lady Gaga like to listen to while getting ready?
When she first walks in, I would probably play some Don Henley because you're sitting for so long. I would also bring in some Ace of Base. I would love to play ARTPOP -- it’s my favorite album. I would also play jazz like Tony Bennett, of course. She actually played for me when I went to receive my [Hairstylist of the Year honor at the Daily Front Row Awards in March], and I cried. We have a great time in the trailer talking to each other. It really is like a family.

Last night it was announced that some of the shows where Lady Gaga appeared won 3 Emmy Awards. Respectively, RuPaul's Drag Race episode 'Oh. My. Gaga!' won an Emmy for Outstanding Picture Editing and Outstanding Costumes. The second Emmy was won thanks to her Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction. This is just 1 out of 6 nominations that Lady Gaga's Super Bowl performance received. Finally, her Carpool Karaoke episode won an Emmy in the Best Variety Special category.
Reminder: the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards are taking place in Los Angeles, California, on the 17th of September.

‘A Star Is Born’ movie starring Lady Gaga set to be released next summer

Warner Bros.’ remake of A Star Is Born, directed by and starring Bradley Cooper, as well as Stefani Germanotta aka Lady Gaga, will hit theaters earlier next year, specifically May 18, instead of its original date of Sept. 28.
Deadline hears that Warner Bros. executives saw an early cut of the film and were blown away by Germanotta and Cooper’s sublime turns; as such they want to get the film on screen as soon as they can.
Pic’s new release date occurs coincidentally during the Cannes Film Festival and Warner Bros. has a recent history of launching its grand May spectacles on the global stage on the Croisette, read Mad Max: Fury Road and The Great Gatsby. Whether A Star Is Born will make its world premiere at Cannes is still up in the air, and Warner Bros. isn’t commenting on that type of launch right now.
On its new date in U.S./Canada, A Star Is Born will go against Sony’s Slender Man and Focus Features’ untitled Laika production. That’s also the weekend preceding the Memorial Day stretch when Disney/Lucasfilm’s Han Solo anthology movie opens.
A Star Is Born gives a fresh look at the story about a singer whose star rises as quickly as her troubled lover/mentor’s star is falling. The latest version of the script was written by Bradley Cooper, Will Fetters, and Eric Roth (Munich, Forrest Gump). Sam Elliott also stars. For Germanotta, who already is an Oscar nominee and won a Golden Globe for her turn in American Horror Story: Hotel, it’s truly her first marquee film role.
A Star Is Born is also a Live Nation/RatPac-Dune Entertainment production. Bill Gerber, Jon Peters, Bradley Cooper, Todd Phillips, and Lynette Howell Taylor are producers with EPs Basil Iwanyk, Michael Rapino, Heather Parry, and Ravi Mehta.
By the way, the Lady Gaga candid Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two hits the streaming service today following its Toronto International Film Festival premiere.

Last night, Lady Gaga brought the Joanne World Tour to the Wrigley Field in Chicago. During her performance of The Edge of Glory, she shared a very intimate moment with her fans. She first dedicated the song to her late friend Sonja, who died of cancer a few months ago, then she went on and told the public that some of her ashes were spread on the venue's field right before the show. Lady Gaga was also the very first singer to perform solo at the Wrigley Field of Chicago, and she decided to dedicate this moment to her friend Sonja.

Lady Gaga will perform at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival on the first Friday night as the Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two has a world premiere.

The Joanne World Tour Set And Stage Design

The stunning aesthetics of Lady Gaga’s Joanne World Tour gave many attendees goosebumps as the set and stage, built by TAIT, took over the entire arena.
The full layout consisted of a very dynamic and kinetic main stage, three flying bridge platforms which double as projection displays, two satellite stages and an LED integrated b-stage. The jaw-dropping 85 ft. wide main stage is fashioned with three automated lifts used for scenic props and staging equipment, in addition to, five performer wave lifts surrounded with LED video panels. The lifts transform the stage into several intricate looks throughout the show. Three of the five performer wave lifts are 17 ft. wide and sit side by side upstage. Parallel to the upstage performer wave lifts are two 50 ft. wide performer wave lifts. When moving in unison, all of the wave lifts appear as one massive lift that transforms into five different configurations: Flat, Elevated, Criss-Cross, Diagonal, and Staircase.
The upstage performer wave lifts also move independently from the larger wave lifts forming four different movements: Flat, Elevated, Staircase, and Zig Zag. TAIT designed and manufactured three inflatable lighting pods which hang 60 ft. above the audience and house billboard-like, video projection displays. When not being used in billboard display mode, each video projection display descends 50 ft. below its lighting pod and converts into a 50 ft. long bridge platform giving Lady Gaga and her dancers a catwalk to travel on from the main stage to the satellite stages and to the multi-dimensional, LED lit b-stage at the other end of the arena.
Additionally, TAIT custom designed the jagged, heart-shaped, laser piano to match the b-stage’s neon aesthetics by furnishing it with 44 lasers that shoot beams of vibrant colors through the arena with every single keystroke she played.
The shell of the piano is built out of a 1.25 inch acrylic, in addition to, a mixture of mirror and dichroic filmed polycarbonate fascia which amplified her flashy laser show.

The JOANNE World Tour Kicks off in Vancouver, Canada

The first show of Lady Gaga's highly anticipated JOANNE World Tour took place in Vancouver, Canada!
A first look at the official merchandising emerged hours before after a fan posted images on Twitter. It features t-shirts and sweatshirts with never-seen-before photos of Lady Gaga printed on them. Fans have already noticed that the items are, however, somehow expensive (the prices on the picture are in Canadian dollars).
Lady Gaga opened her show in Vancouver with Diamond Heart and changed the lyrics to "Young, Wild, Canadian". A-YO, Poker Face and Perfect Illusion followed right after.
An interlude with Lady Gaga in a car aired at this point and anticipated John Wayne, which she sang with a different outfit. Scheiße and Alejandro followed right after. Another interlude was aired on the screen before Lady Gaga started performing Just Dance with a different outfit.
LoveGame and Telephone followed right after. Another interlude anticipated Lady Gaga's performance of Applause. She then turned to the piano and performed Come To Mama and The Edge Of Glory, which she dedicated to her friend Sonja who recently died after years of cancer battle. Lady Gaga talks New Music, Upcoming World Tour, Dive Bar to Billboard

Below, find Billboard's conversation with Gaga, where they talk all about the Dive Bar Tour, where she is in her preparations for the Joanne World Tour (which kicks off Aug. 1 in Vancouver), and what it means to her to play Manchester Arena in the fall after the fatal bombing outside Ariana Grande's concert last month.
You're picking up where you left off last year with the Bud Light Dive Bar Tour, but this time around, you're heading to Las Vegas. Why did you want to get back out on the Dive Bar Tour?
I just love playing in bars, and I got to tell you: All the time, I think about how I started out in my career, and I was just playing in bars downtown in New York -- and you miss that, you know? It's a very wonderful, intimate connection that you get to make with the audience, and it's all about, you know, friendship and love and bonding. It's incredible. I was at the Silver Lake stop of the Dive Bar Tour last year, and you were truly able to connect and make eye contact with every person in that room. Thank you very much! It was an amazing time. I loved performing there, and it's just one of those things I always tell people: "You gotta play a dive bar like an arena, and you play an arena like a dive bar."
What are some of your favorite memories from last year's Dive Bar Tour stops?
I gotta say, when we went to New York and we played at the Bitter End [in October], it was a very special night for a couple of reasons. The first being that I got to sing "Grigio Girls" from my record Joanne to my friend Sonja [Durham], who recently passed of cancer [in May]. And I will always cherish that moment, and I know she's looking down and cherishing it too. You know, she wanted to be on the live stream because she wanted people to know that you can still be strong and have stage 4 cancer, and it was pretty special. And then after [that], me and Mark Ronson went up on the top of the roof and we sang "Angel Down" to a giant crowd of people in the streets, and the song is really about the world and about how it's important to be loving during a tumultuous time, and caring about, you know, the angel that's down and picking them up -- it was really special. Everybody was singing in the street. It was awesome.
How will this year's Dive Bar show be different now that fans have had eight months with the Joanne album instead of it being the first time they hear many of these songs like it was last year?
The Dive Bar shows last year, they were informed by the fact that the fans hadn't heard a lot of the material yet. So I approached them more like a sort of pseudo-electro, pop-underground moment, as opposed to just me at the piano. But this time around for the Dive Bar Tour, I intend for it to be even more intimate than it was the last time. I really want to break the songs down and talk to the audience even more and just, you know, sing the hell out of my songs. The Dive Bar Tour is a little different this time around, since you're passing the torch to two new artists who will have their own stops. I know those artists are under wraps for now, but can you tease what fans might be able to expect from the other Dive Bar shows down the line? I feel like it's really exciting that this is happening, because this Dive Bar/Bud Light concept was something that we invented together, and I feel so excited that it's living on. And what I will tell you about these future artists that are playing is that it's a very diverse group. Everything that you're seeing at these dive bars are not going to be the same: It's not the same types of artists, it's not connected in any way. It's all about celebrating diversity.
After your Vegas concert in July, you'll be kicking off the Joanne World Tour on Aug. 1 in Canada. Where are you now in the preparations for the tour?
Well, the stage has been designed and is being built, and we have been building the story of the show since the Super Bowl. And we are beginning to sort of delineate where we want choreography, what songs I'd like to play at the piano, and lighting is a big thing this year. The stage is very different from anything we've ever done before, and I'm really in love with it. So I'm very excited about the show.
What are some of the major differences between getting in a tiny room of 250 at a bar in Silver Lake and getting in front of a crowd of 40,000 at some of the baseball parks you have lined up for the Joanne tour?
When you're playing in a baseball stadium, it's possible to see some fans in the front, but it's not possible to see as many up close and personal. And at the dive bar, depending on the configuration, you can really see everyone. So I think the intention is to, when I'm in the arena, to really kind of slow it down sometimes and really connect with each person in the most intimate way that I can, like it would be in a dive bar. And then when I'm playing in a dive bar, the idea is to be intimate at times but then to be explosive and big as well, to give people a feeling of what it would be like to see me in a bigger venue.
Speaking of a bigger venue, you headlined Coachella in April and debuted your new song "The Cure" there. Do you have any plans to bring out some new music on the world tour?
Absolutely! It's going to be really fun, and I'm really excited.
How did Coachella or your Super Bowl halftime show kind of inform your preparation for the world tour?
Well, you know, we never like to do the same thing twice, but we do, obviously, love to represent the choreography that me and my dancers -- who I've been with for 10 years, all of them [Laughs] -- have been doing for a long time. So we like to bring back certain moments, but we're creating something completely new. It will grow out of what you saw at the Super Bowl and Coachella, but you know, we always like to keep it fresh.
One of the stops on your tour will be the Manchester Arena, which will reopen in September just before your October concert. What will playing that arena mean to you after the tragedy that took place at Ariana Grande's concert last month?
It will mean a lot to me. I'm excited to share that moment with my fans, as I am in every place that we go. I think it's important, in every city that I stop in, that we honor that tragedy and be there for one another and remember that life is precious and we have to be kind and stick together.
And finally, the Joanne album was such a personal one for you, so what does it mean to finally be able to get out and bring these songs to your fans across the world?
It feels really great. I mean, I absolutely put a lot of my soul into that record -- into the sounds, into the words, into the way I was singing -- and I'm looking forward to integrating that with my other songs, to contextualize it, in a way. For the fans, I hope they are able to celebrate with me what Joanne is: a woman looking out, putting a hat on and saying to herself, "I'm about to go somewhere, because I'm getting out of here. And I don't know where I'm going, but I'm out of here, I'm leaving. I'm not sure what will happen, or if I'll even like it, but I don't care, because I can't stay here." And I think more than anything, I just want my fans to feel a message of liberation, that they can at any point in time change where they are in their life and move forward.
