Lady Gaga Brings MAYHEM To Mexico City
Lady Gaga returned to Mexico City for the first time in over a decade on Saturday, April 26 to kick off the first stadium show in support of MAYHEM. The last time Gaga visited the country was in 2011 for the Monster Ball Tour. Gaga performed to a sold out crowd of over 60,000 fans at Estadio GNP Seguros. Bringing the ‘gothic opera house’ from Coachella, Gaga performed the same set with the addition of “Blade Of Grass” for the first time. To thank the crowd, Gaga wrote a letter in Spanish expressing her gratitude. The translated letter is below: “Dear Little Monsters, It's such an honor to be here tonight in your beautiful country, performing for everyone. It's been 13 years since I was last in Mexico, and coming back has been so special. I hope you feel, in every detail of tonight's show, how much effort I put into showing how much I admire and respect each of you. Everything was done with a lot of love and dedication. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for choosing to spend this evening with me. It means the world to me. Mexico City has a very special place in my heart because it was here that I ended my first stadium tour: the Monster Ball. I will never forget the emotion and passion you shared with me at that farewell, the most important show of my career so far. Today, being able to experience this again with you is a gift. And the most beautiful thing is that, this time, we are not ending a cycle — we are starting a new one. With all my love, Lady Gaga.” Gaga performs another sold out show in Mexico City this Sunday before heading to Copacabana for the biggest show of her career on May 3. Gaga will then bring MAYHEM to Singapore for four stadium shows in May before kicking off the MAYHEM Ball arena tour in July.6 points

Parris Goebel Discusses Lady Gaga’s Coachella Performance With Vanity Fair
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Lady Gaga’s choreographer Parris Goebel discusses the creative process behind crafting Gaga’s 2025 Coachella performance. Parris calls the collaboration “probably the most fun I’ve ever had working on a project, and I think that comes down to working with Gaga.” Read the full interview here. On Choosing the Setlist: “We were just like, ‘how do we make the most iconic opening ever?’ And we started throwing out song names. ‘What if we open with Abracadabra?’ I said we have to do Scheiße, because it’s my favorite. ‘And what if we ended the act with Poker Face? It would be so unexpected.’ I think people were expecting her to open with the new album, but we did this mash-up of new and old hits. I think it was the perfect blend to wake everyone up and say: She’s here! She’s back!” On Creating the Opera House: “Gaga and I talk every day, and we’re constantly sharing ideas, photos, and inspiration. It just kind of came to me: What if we do an opera house, like Mayhem Opera House? […] When I started working with Gaga, I very quickly learned that my wildest dreams and fantasies could transpire with her. I texted her, ‘Let’s do an opera house.’ And she texted back and said, ‘I love it. Let’s do it.’” On Her Favorite Part of the Putting the Show Together: “Working with such a free thinker, someone who’s open-minded and takes risks and cares about true artistry. She really puts the time, energy, and money into her art. You can see that. We both managed to lock ourselves away in this little ‘Mayhem’ world and be kids again. And it was so theatrical. I really thrive in those spaces. I love the drama—how dance, music, and visuals can take you to another world. It’s obviously a lot of hard work, but it’s been a dream.” On Revamping Old Choreography: “The cool thing, I’m coming in fresh with someone who already has such a massive legacy and impact on the world. I just want to honor what she’s done, what’s she’s created, and then also put a fresh twist on it. I’m always thinking about her fans. So it was like, What will the fans love to see again in this world, the ‘Mayhem’ world? Then deciding to give them something new here, switching it up there. It was a beautiful balance of honoring what she’s done and then putting a fresh lens on it.” On How the Mayhem Ball Will Differ From Coachella: “No comment.” Lady Gaga’s MAYHEM Ball kicks off in July, following the biggest show of her in Brazil, and a series of stadium shows in Singapore.5 points

Lady Gaga Talks 'MAYHEM,' Mental Health and More in Rolling Stone Cover Story
A week after she scored seven nominations at the 68th Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga graced the cover of Rolling Stone's December magazine to talk about "MAYHEM," finding love and touring. This marks Gaga's fourth time on the cover of the magazine and her first since 2011. Read the cover story here, and check out some highlights below. On mental health Gaga opened up about the mental health struggles she faced after the release of "ARTPOP" in 2013. She said "ARTPOP" altered the trajectory of her career because it "was the first time that [she] ever had major criticism about a piece of work" she made. From there, she discussed how her mental health problems continued through the next decade. She said she did "A Star is Born" on lithium, a powerful mood stabilizer, and had a psychotic break after filming on the Joanne World Tour: "I needed to take a break. I couldn't do anything ... I completely crashed. It was really scary. There was a time where I didn't think I could get better. ... I feel really lucky to be alive." She continued to say she doesn't think she "was doing very well" during the filming of "House of Gucci," and spoke about how "Chromatica" is "very literal" because it's all she had: "I didn't have a lot of the same type of poetry inside of me because I sort of lost it." This concept is explored in the "Disease" music video, which she said "is so deliberately about somebody that wants to harm you – and it being you." After filming it, she said she went into a dark place that revealed to her that she was not done healing. Thankfully, she now considers herself "a healthy, whole person," thanks in part to "MAYHEM": "One of the things I'm most grateful for is gaining all my artistic faculties back to make this record. I had to dig very, very deep, and I had to change a lot of my life and recenter around what I needed as a human being." On being in love Another factor in getting her back on track is her relationship with Michael Polansky, about whom she said, "Being in love with someone that cares about the real me made a very big difference." It's Polansky who told her she needed to reclaim her music, and in the process, she asked him for his input. Polansky is credited as a co-writer on six "MAYHEM" songs, which surprised him because his contributions were not intentional. "It was very touching to me that she wanted to acknowledge me," he said. Andrew Watt, a close collaborator through the "MAYHEM" sessions credited Polansky with being a crucial stabilizer in the recording process and said he has "that all-knowing Buddha-type energy." In turns out she secretly had another business venture with Polansky as she co-founded and sits on the board of directors of Outer Biosciences, a skin-health research firm that Polansky said "was her idea." "When she talks about us being partners, it kind of looks like it all goes one direction, but she's the most incredible support to me as well," he said. They plan to get married soon, and Gaga added that "being a mom is the thing [she wants] the most." On the MAYHEM Ball The narrative of MAYHEM Ball, Gaga's largest and longest tour in a decade, is a dream-logic version of parts of her real life. She broke it down and said the show starts with Mayhem, "the most egocentric side" of her, that announces she's the queen with a desire of torturing the younger version of herself "as a way of teaching her how to be great." The Mayhem character's plan doesn't go as planned, though. "I decided I wanted to make it something that everybody could understand and love," she said, "and it didn't have to be the most dark thing that I'd ever created. Isn't that Mayhem talking? 'I have to be dark.' And, like, what is that in me that I have to be the toughest or the most edgy?" While she still panics at the start of every show, but "the rehearsal of self" saves her and puts her back in the moment.3 points

Spotify Interviews Viral Little Monster "The Kid in the Orange Jacket": Atticus
Spotify interviewed Atticus for their series "Most Viral Fan." Atticus became famous years ago as "the kid in the orange jacket" who managed to get onstage with Lady Gaga during her tour and dance with her. The video of them dancing together has since gone viral around the world, becoming one of the most touching moments in pop music history. Watch his story below. Atticus learned the choreography to "Scheiße," which he later performed with Gaga on stage, "in my room, in my underwear, watching YouTube videos" he told Spotify. He had originally planned to avoid any spoilers before attending the Born This Way Ball, but he wanted to teach the steps to one of his dance classes. As the legend goes, he camped out for the show with friends and narrowly secured entry into the Monster Pit. It was there that he started doing the "Scheiße" choreography when he was spotted by Gaga. Atticus "pushed through that crowd like a battering ram to the front of the stage," after hearing Gaga call him up. "Blackout is not the right word because I was so conscious." "I don't feel like I had control over my body," he recounts, trusting his knowledge of the dance to carry him through the performance. The parts he wasn't sure of were the stage directions. Fortunately, the dancers graciously directed him on where to go. "The next thing I knew, we were stopped at the front, and the lights were on us." That's when a fan threw a bouquet of flowers onstage. Atticus dropped to his knee and held them out to Gaga, who gave him a kiss. After the song, "that's where the real magic happened." Atticus was pulled backstage and given the opportunity to hang out with Gaga's dancers (some of whom he's still in touch with today), and the superstar herself. "Oh my god, you are so fab," she told him, and signed his jacket. That jacket, ironically, was one Atticus stole from "a girl from high school." It's safe to say he's not giving it back or giving it away—turning down offers up to $20k. Even though Atticus has pursued his passion for photography over dance, he still cites the viral moment as a life-changing event. "She probably changed my life more than anything else ever has."3 points

Gaga won the award for her touching performance of "Hold My Hand" in New Orleans, Louisiana, ahead of Super Bowl LIX. Rewatch the Emmy-winning performance below: She shares the Emmy with co-producers Seth Dudowsky, Bill Richards, Joel Santos, Jesse Weiss and Brad Zager. Joe Nargi is listed as the music editor. She only needs a Tony Award, which is awarded for excellence in live Broadway theatre. This marks Gaga's first Emmy Award win, but it's her fifth nomination. She was nominated for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special for "Lady Gaga Presents the Monster Ball Tour: At Madison Square Garden" and "Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga: Cheek to Cheek Live!" in 2011 and 2015, respectively. Her Super Bowl LI Halftime Show received a nod in 2017 for Outstanding Special Class Program, and in 2022, she was nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for "One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga."3 points

Lady Gaga Talks Motherhood And Performs On 'The Howard Stern Show'
Lady Gaga's March 11 appearance on "The Howard Stern Show," featured acoustic performances of two MAYHEM favorites, "Abracadabra" and "Perfect Celebrity." "I put together this other version of it I thought could be cool. I wanted to play it for my fans," she said of the new, piano-led and stripped down "Abracadabra" arrangement. She then went on to introduce "Perfect Celebrity" as "a little bit of retaliation against [herself]." Gaga also revealed that the process of making MAYHEM was more liberating than her past experiences, saying that she "started just feeling and allowing [herself] to just be free." And while not every track on the album was completed so quickly, her most recent hit single "Abracadabra," only took about half an hour to write. Gaga also spoke about her fiancé, Michael Polanksy's, proposal, which inspired the track "Blade of Grass," as well as her future as a mother, saying "I think music will be a part of our child's life." As for the chart-topping track, "Die With a Smile," with Bruno Mars, Gaga spoke about being at the studio "until five in the morning." Finally, she reflected on her choice to take part in A Star is Born. "I like to take a shot. I like a little bit of danger...'Cause then you can surprise yourself."3 points

Lady Gaga Talks Spotify Press Conference, Shares 'Mayhem' Lyrics
Lady Gaga and Spotify's Head of Global Editorial Sulinna Ong sat down for InStyle to talk about the upcoming Little Monster Press Conference, a fan-only event where Little Monsters can ask her anything. Gaga also dished on the creative process behind "Mayhem" and teased lyrics to two new songs. To read the interview in its entirety, click here. You can find highlights below. Gaga said that since the beginning of her career, community has been most important to her. The reason she wanted to do the press conference with Spotify was give her fan community a special opportunity to ask anything they may have wondered in the past two decades. "Feel free to ask me whatever you want!," she said. "We've been in this public conversation for a long time and I'm just so excited to talk to you." She went on to explain how she thinks some fans have missed her style of a "dark pop album," and she looks forward to putting "Mayhem" out because releasing an album allows an artist to reconnect with fans: "I made this for them." Calling the album a "return to an earlier process," Gaga revealed that "Mayhem" mixes live instrumentation and programming, which allowed her and her team of collaborators – Andrew Watt, Cirkut and Gesaffelstein – to create unique, never-before-heard sounds. Genre did not play as significant a role in the writing and recording process for "Mayhem" as it did in her other musical projects the past decade. "I would get seduced by making the album kind of homogenous, or on-theme. ... On 'Mayhem,' it was the opposite. I instead decided to allow myself the freedom to be chaotic with the genres and be chaotic with the choices as a way of celebrating the type of musician that I am." Gaga said "Mayhem" is a bunch of twisted, gothic dreams: "Some are true and some are not true, but they're somehow related to life." She cited "The Beast," the album's 12th song, as an example. The song, which she described as "me singing to a werewolf," features the lyrics: "You can't hide who you are, 11:59, your heart's racin', you're growling, and we both know why." She explained, "Somehow that gothic dream is not just about me in a relationship wit this person that's about to turn, but what if I was to just sing it to myself and the beast is Gaga?" The concept of duality is explored through the "Mayhem" era, from the multiple Gagas in the music videos for "Disease" and "Abracadabra" to the album track "Perfect Celebrity." Gaga expanded this duality by sharing a lyric from the upcoming song: "I've become a notorious being, find my clone, she's asleep on the ceiling." "It's the idea that we all, in a way, have our real selves and then our clone version that we project to the world," she explained. "So there's a lot in 'Mayhem' about multiple yous or multiple mes and what it's like to have those things be at odds with each other all the time." Lady Gaga Guests on Zane Lowe's Apple Music Radio Show
Lady Gaga has had a monumental 2025, and she's showing no sign of slowing down. Today, Dec. 18, 2025, she appeared on Zane Lowe's Apple Music radio show to round out the year. It is Gaga's second time chatting with Lowe this year, the first being back in March during the "MAYHEM" release week. She denied rumors about a new tour, but she teased the possibility of new music in the new year. Watch the interview here, and read some of the highlights below: On the MAYHEM Ball: While she denied rumors about continuing the MAYHEM Ball past April 2026, Gaga said she's had the most amazing time reconnecting with fans every night of the tour. She noted that while it's a choreographed show, there's "a ton of room" for her to tell the story differently every night. On the possibility of new music: Gaga confirmed she was in the studio this week and has "been making a lot of music." "It's kind of the best making music when you get to see your fans every night, because you're energetically just right where you need to be," she said. When asked about releasing new music next year, Gaga said, "It really depends on how I keep going with writing, but it's not out of the question." The Weeknd came up after he posted a no-context image of Gaga earlier this week, sparking collaboration rumors. Gaga did not confirm or deny the rumors and said, "I love Abel! That's all I can say." On the reception to "MAYHEM": Gaga noted how cool it is to see "MAYHEM" connect with audiences. She said that while some of her records have resonated with her fanbase and others have resonated more with the general public, it's a "special feeling" to make a record that connects with both at the same time. On the Grammy Awards: With next year's 68th Annual Grammy Awards, Gaga nabbed the most nominations at one ceremony in her career, for both "MAYHEM" and "Harlequin." She said she feels grateful for all the different genres and "pockets" of music she gets to play in because it's like "jumping into different galaxies, and you can really get lost somewhere else completely." On artificial intelligence in music: When Lowe mentioned his dislike for the increasing development of artificial intelligence in pop music, Gaga echoed his sentiment: "Being a human being I don't think is going to go out of style anytime soon. I certainly hope it's not. That's at the core of, I think, the way we understand each other, the way we communicate."2 points

Lady Gaga Does "My Life in 10 Songs" Challenge For Rolling Stone
Lady Gaga shared some of the most influential songs that have soundtracked her life in Rolling Stone's new series "My Life in 10 Songs". Watch the video and read about her choices below. 1. Bruce Springsteen – "Thunder Road" "Springsteen has influenced me my whole career. My album 'Born This Way' was heavily influenced by Bruce Springsteen. Bruce had a very particular grit and soulfulness, and when I was making 'Born This Way' I thought a lot about how to incorporate who I really am into my music, even more than I did during 'The Fame'. 'The Fame' was an album that was more about my dream for myself; 'Born This Way' was more of an album that was looking back on a particular time in my life. I think I fell in love with New York all over again through Bruce's music because of the proximity to New Jersey and that whole area. […] I remember feeling like I was learning about my dad through the song because my dad is from New Jersey, and Bruce is from Jersey." 2. Beck – "Nicotine & Gravy" "For me, 'Nicotine & Gravy' really spoke to who I was as a 19 year-old living on the Lower East Side and kind of getting my kicks with the locals. I looked back on it, going like, 'Oh [Beck] changed'. I would say the way it affected my life the most is that watching Beck change made me feel like I wanted to change." 3. Carl Bean – "I Was Born This Way" "I was so inspired by that song. I heard and I was like, 'I wonder if there's a way to flip this into a modern pop record'. […] It's so meaningful to me too because the entire energy around 'Born This Way', my song, entirely depended on that song. The genesis of it gave way to something that I think for me is the most important record of my whole career, not just for me artistically but for what it means. And every night that I play it, I think about Carl Bean and I think about 'I Was Born This Way'." 4. Iron Butterfly – "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" "I had been writing songs that were kind of fantasy with nonsensical words in it, and my mom was like, 'You have to hear this song'. I think they were really drunk in the studio and trying to sing "in the garden of eden" and then it came out as "in-a-gadda-da-vida", and then they kept it that way. So I always thought it was really cool and I know it stuck in the back of my mind that you could make a hit record with words you make up. That definitely stayed with me with through all my music, and made a comeback for 'Abracadabra'." 5. David Bowie – "Watch That Man" "I had this conundrum as a young person, where I was a little too, or not enough, something. [Lady Starlight] said to me, 'You know, David Bowie was very theatrical. And he's David Bowie'. I started to try to understand him as an artist and delve into his music. […] I had such a dream of making something of myself, that it became kind of this pump-up song for me. My love of David Bowie just deepened from there, but I would say that this was one of the first songs." 6. Heavy Metal Kids – "Hey Little Girl" "When you find records that help you understand or see yourself, or they become the soundtrack to you and your friend group, that's pretty powerful. There was this idea that you could be kind of rough around the edges and still glamorous, and at the time that meant a lot to me because I didn't have much to offer other than the music I was making and all the jobs I was working." 7. Stevie Wonder – "Superstition" "Particularly from 'Superstition', that bass line is one of the most exciting bass lines I had ever heard in my whole life. I started thinking about music differently. Listening to Stevie Wonder helped me think about how I could compose differently. It's like that kind of music you have to let seep into your bones and your soul until it finds its way into something true and authentic to you. I definitely I had my moments on 'MAYHEM' where I was thinking about him." 8. Carole King – "Tapestry" "When I was really bullied in high school, I listened to Carole King's music and I always felt her voice and her songs are like a warm hug. And I think because I played piano and I wrote songs that I saw a path for myself and I just really looked up to her. […] I would say another thing that Carole King taught me was it can be good to think about another artist when you're writing; imagining a super-star singing the song. Because I'll go, 'Is this good enough for someone else?' What might be good enough for me may not be good enough for someone else." 9. Dinah Washington – "What a Diff'rence a Day Made" "I sang it a lot in my jazz shows, but I didn't sing it on tour with Tony Bennett. I kind of discovered it later. I think I found a bit of myself as a solo jazz singer, without Tony, with that song, just personally. […] I would say 'What a Diff'rence a Day Made' was extremely important to me because it was Dinah's charts that I sang when I first did it, and it was kind of, what was my voice without Tony, when I was just starting to do that." 10. Miles Davis – "So What" "This is another great segue into how I learned as a young artist that it's about how you think about music, and everybody can think about music differently. It was the way Miles thought about music that I was really moved by as a young person. His album 'Kind of Blue' was critical, and this was long before I ever met Tony, and it was much earlier in my life." 11. The Rolling Stones – "Sympathy for the Devil" "To me, 'Sympathy for the Devil' had a speed of rock-and-roll that I hadn't heard before. When I say different speed of rock-and-roll, it was also so different from Led Zeppelin and 'Whole Lotta Love'. 'Thank You' was a softer record, but it didn't have this same kind of coolness that 'Sympathy for the Devil' has; 'Thank You' was more like a sincere love song. Pink Floyd were more hallucinogenic in their music. 'Money' was one of the first records I remember listening to. My dad put it on and I said, 'Dad, is that cash register?' And he said yes, and I was like, 'But why? It's music'." 12. Led Zeppelin – "Thank You" "I love 'Thank You' by Led Zeppelin because they have this razor-sharp, loud, just kind of epic music. And then 'Thank You' is just like quieter. And it's pretty. And it's so sincere. It was kind of like learning the unobtainable rock-and-roll God could really love you. There was like a human-being underneath the legend of it all. The idea of drama and theatricality in music, and then sincerity, I think those two things kind of yin-yang for me." 13. She Wants Revenge – "Tear You Apart" "'Tear You Apart' by She Wants Revenge is a song that I just fell in love with when I was like 18 years-old. At that same time, I was really into The Cure. This kind of more electronic thing was starting to percolate for me. I think something about living on Stanton Street and the clubs I was going to. What's funny is that the clubs I was going to, a lot of them were playing metal records, but I would listen to She Wants Revenge and The Cure and Depeche Mode when I was at home. That was kind of my internal soundtrack to what the DJs were playing." 14. The Cure – "Never Enough" "My favorite The Cure song was 'Never Enough' and I am obsessed with the production on that song. I love the song also, but the production on it is something else. I also think I related it to that time in my life I couldn't stop partying. I mean I was writing songs then partying, like on a loop. So I think that song was kind of like the soundtrack to my routine." 15. Justice – "Stress" "I put 'Stress' by Justice on here too because French-electronic music was something I discovered more when I moved to California. […] I put that record on here because I can't even actually think of a time in my career that I didn't think about Justice when I was making music. It had to do with that unique specialness; that thing that only they had."2 points

Andrew Watt Reflects On Lady Gaga's MAYHEM With PEOPLE
Producer Andrew Watt talked with PEOPLE about his experience in the studio with Lady Gaga during the recording of ‘MAYHEM’. Andrew served as co-executive producer of the album, alongside Gaga and her fiancé Michael Polansky. Highlights from the interview are below. On Gaga's decision to return to her dance-pop roots on MAYHEM: "She has done so many different types of music throughout her career. There's nothing she can't do. So when we went to make this album, I think we were touching on all of [the genres she’s covered]. As an artist, she's always learning, always evolving, always pushing herself. The work ethic is out of this world. And it just became apparent from the stuff that we started making that we were making a dance album. The music was calling us to that." On what it's like to work in the studio with Gaga: "She's there thinking about the entire world she's going to build when she does a song. There's layers to what she does. First, she has to figure out the notes and the lyrics and the vibe of what she's going to do and create that. That, for a lot of people, is where it ends. You write a song, you put your vocal on it. Boom, that's it. Not for Gaga. She then takes that song home, figures out which part of her is going to sing the narrative, how she has to sing it. Does she have to sing it harder? Does she have to sing it softer? How is she going to deliver the vocal? She learns every inflection of what she did and comes back [and] sings it for hours and hours until she finds the right character." On watching Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars work together in the studio: "Just sitting there and watching her and Bruno interact, it was like Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson. Watching that interaction was so special. The competition between the two of them was so healthy and great. I will never forget them going back and forth while she was recording the vocal." On his favorite song from MAYHEM: "I really, really love that song “Perfect Celebrity.” I got to the studio five minutes before her. Whatever was in my head, I just started playing the synth, and the second it came out of the speakers, it was 10 seconds, 30 seconds of me playing before she had heard it, and already started writing. So it was one of those really fluid things. And the second she came up with that concept, I remember her saying, ‘Oh, this is the song that I always should have written.’ It felt instantly like a song that was already in her discography, even though it was a brand-new thing she was coming up with." Lady Gaga praised Andrew for being "a uniquely gifted" producer and musician: "Everything he does is rooted in a deep love for music and for the people who make it. You can feel how profoundly it’s shaped his life. He lives and breathes it in a way that’s rare even among artists. […] With Andrew, the process becomes limitless, his instinct, taste, and understanding of sonic history makes him one of the most dynamic collaborators in modern music." Lady Gaga Wraps Up MAYHEM In The Desert at Coachella Weekend 2
Lady Gaga brings MAYHEM to the desert for the second weekend in a row at Coachella. Gaga took to the stage again on Friday, April 18, headlining the iconic desert music festival for the second time in her career. The 'gothic opera house' sound and stage hosted Gage's most prolific songs, including "Abracadabra" off of her seventh studio album and mega-hits such as "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face".
