Lady Gaga Talks Her New Collaboration With Dom PĂ©rignon
Celebrating the latest phase of her collaboration with champagne house Dom PĂ©rignon, Lady Gaga shared her insight on their new film commercial for Wallpaper Magazine and ElPais. You can read an excerpt of the interviews below: "I spent all day today making art. All I did was create all day long, and I just stared at it and listened to it and just worked⊠It is a labour of love. And itâs important to do that because itâs a real privilege to make art. So you have to work hard because some people donât have the privilege. [...] I'm actually really interested in living more of a life of solitude. It's really nice to just have time to be alone, and be expansive, and know that you're enough. I wish I could tell my younger self that. When I was younger, I spent a lot of time alone writing music. But the more successful I became, the more I felt like I needed other people to tell me I was great." Lady Gaga by Mario Sorrenti Gaga touched on subjects such as the power of culture and her views on the future as well: "If I wasn't successful in the way that I am today â I'm very grateful for my success â I'd still be doing it, I'd be on the Lower East Side. I would do it no matter what. Absolutely, 100 per cent. I know that because I actually don't spend a lot of time in Hollywood. I might look like I do, because sometimes award season happens and you see me on red carpets. But I'm very much at home working⊠that's the thing that really makes me happy." Lady Gaga by Mario Sorrenti She also recalled how was becoming famous before the digital era: "I think there's a difference between doing artistic things and then being in an art culture, I mean, an art culture, artists spending time together, talking to each other, creating together. It's not about status, it's about work. I wish I could give all the artists in the world the opportunity to live a week of my life. When I was 18 years old, on the Lower East Side I had many artist friends and nobody knew who we were except for each other. And we used to put on shows in venues just for each other and show our works, like paintings, photographs, poems, music, performing arts. And no one, no one, knew who we were. We didn't have social media, we just had Myspace." Lady Gaga by Mario Sorrenti At the core of Gaga's involvement with the champagne brand is "the power of creative dialogue", a concept that has fuelled their partnership since its inception. Speaking to the current climate of art and culture, she is quoted as saying that they're "having a hard time at the moment", and that "there's a difference between making artistic things and then being in an artistic culture... It's not about status, it's about the work." The new campaign starring Lady Gaga is celebrating the company's 2013 vintage. It was directed and composed by Woodkid, choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and styled by Nicola Formichetti, and photographed by Mario Sorrenti. You can find the whole interview HERE and HERE.

Lady Gaga Covers Deadline's Oscar Preview Issue
Lady Gaga has been revealed as the cover star of Deadline's AwardsLine Oscar Preview issue, and spoke to Antonia Blyth about House of Gucci and her experience as a female actor in Hollywood. Lady Gaga by Josh Telles for the cover of Deadline. In the interview, Gaga gave insight into her experience as a woman, and specifically a woman in the entertainment industry, stating the following: "...I think it's something that a lot of women share in common, this fear of, 'Well, if I'm over 30 and I'm not married, or if I lose my looks at this time, then I'm not going to work anymore.' Or, as an actress in this industry, 'My face has to be frozen in time in order to get a job.'... I think a lot of women can relate to that." "People do love to watch women fall apart. But they love to watch women fall apart on film and in television. When women fall apart in real life and are vibrant and passionate, we're called crazy. We're called b*tches. We're told we're too much." "I've been called 'spicy' before. I really disliked that, spicy. It's like, what is the flavor of a woman?" In regards to how she prepared for her immersive performance as Patrizia Reggiani, Gaga explained, "I put all of the ingredients into a cauldron; I put in the biography of her that I've written, I put in the accent, I put in the script, I put in all of the traumas, I dig through my own library, I contribute my stories. And then I drink the soup, I study the animal. And then I show up on set and Ridley yells action... and I throw it all out the window and just talk to the actor." When asked if she would ever consider stepping into a directing role on a film, she replied, "...I'm interested in it, yes, but it's something I would want to practice and to become nuanced and nimble. And I would never want to say that I could be great at something that I was not enough of a student of yet." Gaga later revealed that the House of Gucci scene in which Patrizia confronts Maurizio about counterfeit Gucci products actually took place: "He was profiting off of counterfeit Gucci goods and people thought they were buying a copy when they were down in Chinatown, when in fact they were buying a replica that the family was profiting off of." To close off the interview, Gaga contemplated what other historical figures she may want to play in the future: "I've always wanted to play Mary Magdalene. I wrote a song about her a long time ago called "Bloody Mary"... all about this woman that was willing to do anything to love who she believed to be the greatest gift to Earth... I guess I'm interested in women's stories." Read Lady Gaga's full interview with Deadline here.

Lady Gaga Talks Acting and Broadway on "Just for Variety" Podcast
Lady Gaga joined Variety journalist Mark Malkin on this week's Just for Variety podcast to discuss House of Gucci, her acting process, and potentially making her way to Broadway. "I'd love to do a romantic comedy," Gaga told Malkin as they reflected back on her previous, intensely dramatic roles. She notes that her manager Bobby Campbell suggested she does one after wrapping House of Gucci. During the interview, Gaga revealed for the first time that "she sought on-set help from a mental health professional during the final days of shooting." âI had a psychiatric nurse with me towards the end of filming,â she explained. âI sort of felt like I had to. I felt that it was safer for me.â She goes on to note that she has a history of taking her work to extreme levels: "Iâve done some pretty extreme art pieces throughout my career â the things Iâve put my body through, my mind. Itâs like a walnut of sadness in my stomach as I say this to you. I donât know why Iâm like that. I think that the best answer I could give you is I have a sort of romantic relationship with suffering for your art that I developed as a young girl, and it just sometimes goes too far. And when it does go too far, it can be hard to reel it in on your own.â Malkin took the opportunity to ask Gaga about a potential Broadway debut. âMaybe when I write my first musical,â she replied. âThere are so many amazing musicals, but I love writing music. I love musical theater, and I know a lot about musical theater, and I know a lot about music. So I think I would really enjoy the process of creating a musical. Iâve thought about it for a really long time.â Watch the full interview below. Stream the podcast on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Read an article overview of the interview on Variety.com.
