Lady Gaga sat down for an interview with Hollywood YouTube channels Jake's Takes, Tara Hitchcock, Paul’s Trip to the Movies and Kevin McCarthy to discuss her role in House of Gucci and the impact it had on her.
The interviews addressed Gaga's life and how acting has influenced her career. She also reflected on her role as Patrizia Reggiani, her artistry, and what her legacy means to her. On her own impact, she stated, "...I don't think about myself as a brand, I think about myself as a person, as a human being, and an artist."
She also mentioned the impact that the costuming for House of Gucci, designed by Janty Yates, had on her characterization, arguing "...the fashion should be something that is truly a part of the character," and that, "[she] only wore things [Patrizia] wore and in the way she would have styled them."
When asked about what period of her career she would want made into a film, she revealed that her manager, Bobby Campbell, initiated the documentary Five Foot Two, and that she had nothing to do with its conception: "I trusted him to make something that was powerful because I believe in his ability to support women and make art..."

Gaga responds to criticism of her performance in House of Gucci, and talks how she prepared for the role spending months studying Reggiani for director Ridley Scott's new film.
"I had to decide as an actress, 'Did she have the murder gene? Was she born a killer?' And I don't believe she was," Gaga told NPR host A Martínez on Morning Edition. "I think that it was these trigger points of trauma throughout her life that turned her into what she became, which was a monster."

Following the media embargo for House Of Gucci, reviews for the film are now being published. These reviews count towards Metacritic, as well as Rotten Tomatoes. The movie has garnered overwhelmingly positive recognition after the premieres in London, Milan, New York, and Los Angeles. The movie is set to release in theaters in the U.S. on November 24th, and the 26th in the U.K.
Check out the new reviews below.
”…beneath the Ferrari-red snowsuits and wild wiggery, she vibrates with an intensity that often supersedes the sillier bits, every hand clap and espresso-cup tap another brick in a highly GIF-able whole.”
-Entertainment Weekly
”What a pleasure it is to see Lady Gaga transform from a musician with an artificial stage persona to an earthy and accessible actress, with the acumen to deliver a comic, distinct and distinguished performance.”
-San Francisco Chronicle
“…she inhabits Patrizia as an outsider several times over: First as a Reggiani in the Gucci family, then as a woman in the fashion world. Of course, her new relatives never let her forget either of those facts.”
-IndieWire
”Lady Gaga comes off the best here, as she modulates her performance based on her screen partners. This allows her to give one of the best ‘movie star’ performances of the year, giving a big performance that never loses sight of the humanity within the character”
-Moviejawn
“She takes the character of Patrizia seriously: every inflection, every gesture, every minute she is on screen, and the effect ranges from funny to pure pathos.”
-ScreenDaily
”Gaga’s Patrizia is a spitfire, getting her Lady Macbeth on by convincing her husband, who had aspirations to be a lawyer, to look into the family business.”
-Nashville Scene
“Lady Gaga is absolutely sublime as the cunning and enigmatic Patrizia... She commands the screen with a confident, assured presence that is both graceful and aggressive.”
-FilmUpdates
"...the high-gloss and even higher-fashion festival of backstabbing stars Gaga as the woman whose controversial business practices after marrying into the Gucci fashion dynasty included hiring a hit man to deal with her pesky, cheating husband."
-Chicago Tribune

Lady Gaga gave another interview for BBC News describing how she used her own traumatic experiences to enrich her brand new role in the upcoming "House of Gucci" movie.

Gaga spoke to BBC News about tapping into her traumatic past to improve her performance in her role as Patrizia Reggiani.
She said: "I used all of these memories, all of these traumas, all of these moments in my life. Less of the hustle as part of her character, but more of being assaulted when I was 19 by a music producer, feeling endlessly controlled by men as I continued my career and tried to find my own voice and be in my own empowerment - not power, but empowerment, as a woman. I took from every trigger point that I could find, and I allowed myself to experience - I could cry talking about it - survival mode all the time."
And then added: "So it was very painful on set because I was constantly working using sense memory. I've been very open about having post-traumatic stress disorder, and I have complex PTSD. So that's not a single incident PTSD, it's multiple incidents. I used all of them at different times in different moments in the script."

Actor Indya Moore, best-known for their role in the hit series “Pose”, has spoken out about how Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation helped them along their journey.
During a dinner event hosted by Dom Perignon, which saw them make a sizeable $570,000 donation to BTWF, Moore gave a moving speech commending them for the work they do to support young LGBTQ+ people.
In their speech, Moore revealed that they were homeless just before beginning work on Pose. “I just went straight into working and being an artist and everything that I am to people, and so now I’m trying to be something more for myself. And that’s what I’ve been focused on."
"It was because of this foundation that I was able to be safe for so long and have some kind of structure,” Moore attested. "I got to stay in care until I was about 22 or 23," referring to a foster care system that typically stops looking after people once they turn 18. Born This Way Foundation actively makes donations to foster care agencies to allow people to remain in the system longer.
Founded in 2011 by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, the organization is "committed to supporting the wellness of young people, and empowering them to create a kinder and braver world."
