PREMIERE: 911 - A Short Film By Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga broke down twitter after she quoted ''A POP MUSIC EMERGENCY IS UNDERWAY 911'', anticipating the release of ''911'' as the third official single from ''Chromatica''. This morning, Gaga made us wake in a white dessert and walk through her mind. An eye-dropping story filled with symbolism, colors, and fashion with a shocking twist a the end

“911” is Chromatica’s 8th track. Gaga first talked about the song back in May, on her interview with Zane Lowe for Beats1. The song talks about an antipsychotic the singer takes because she can’t control her brain.

”I have incredible doctors, they do not give me any kind of narcotic, when I sing Pop a 911, it’s not an opioid, I don’t take any pain medication because it’s not healthy for me.”

Back in July, Lady Gaga reunited with Tarsem Singh, director, to discuss the vision for the video. “I made it not about blood loss, but about the opposite of being high on drugs: Basically, a lack of a drug. You don’t have your pills, so you’re not on your medication.” said Singh to Entertainment Weekly.

Described as a short film, “911” features some references from classic movies such as ‘The Color of Pomegranates’ (Sergei Parajanov) and ‘8 ½’ (Federico Fellini). The director revealed that he realized how personal this song was for her after she started to cry after hearing his concept. “She moved heaven and earth for me.”
