Beyoncé Knowles is to make a surprise appearance at the BRIT Awards.

The Halo hitmaker was said to be too busy to fly to Britain later for the ceremony later this month but has reportedly changed her schedule in order to sing with Lady Gaga on their raunchy duet Telephone.

“At first Beyonce didn’t think she could make the BRITs,” a source said. “But now it’s looking more likely. With her husband Jay-Z also on the bill it makes sense for her not to miss out.”

The singer has received no nominations for this year’s show, which will be held on February 16 at London’s Earl’s Court, but did take home a record-breaking six gongs at the Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The American star thanked her hip-hop mogul husband Jay-Z as she picked up her awards, despite the couple rarely publicly acknowledging their relationship.

When asked how the ’99 Problems’ star responded to her comments on stage, she said, “He was shocked! He was just like, ‘What did you say?’ and he said, ‘You have six Grammys and you smell good.’ ”
