Lady Gaga Discusses Her Journey To Make Chromatica For AmericanSongwriters
Lady Gaga opened up about the process of Making Chromatica on AmericanSongwriters.com on their latest interview: "Lady Gaga Is a Legendary Creative Shape-Shifter" Here's an excerpt from the interview: “A house is something you construct. I want to make nature in my music. However the genesis, the seed of my rose garden must be that intention to create nature. This album (Chromatica) was my nature at the time. It still is, but I’ve also evolved. I can listen to what I sang and feel catharsis. I feel at peace with myself, and I feel strong and I feel powerful. Sometimes when you don’t feel great, you have to create it.” Gaga started the rollout of her highly anticipated sixth studio album, Chromatica, in early 2020. The lead single, Stupid Love and the second single, Rain On Me, were both released with stunning visuals that gave a taste to fans of what to expect for the record. “I chose ‘Stupid Love’ as the first single off Chromatica and ‘Rain on Me’ as the second because those two songs are about vital things,” Gaga says. “Love in the world, kindness in the world. Rid yourself of shame. Open the door to faith. Accept your pain and embrace the rainfall of those tears. Accept that you’re wet from crying but that you’re still alive. That must be good enough for now.” Chromatica arrived during a very tumultuous time in the world, however the album sparked joy amongst fans and brought a ray of light into the darkness. Fans and critics praised the album for its upbeat sound and deep, personal message. “I love music’s ability to spread happiness, kindness and joy,” Gaga says. “I love its ability to speak while it’s singing. I love its ability to say things without saying them. I love its ability to be both simple and complicated at the same time, just like human beings. I love the way it sounds. I love the way it soothes and heals us. I also love the way that music can be disruptive. I think great art is disruptive, and I think that you can be kindly disruptive. I would like to be kindly disruptive until my last song.” You can read the full interview here.

Lady Gaga's Dog Walker, Ryan, Shares A Message From the Hospital
Ryan Fischer, Lady Gaga's dog walker, was shot last week in Los Angeles while outside with her three dogs. Although two of the dogs, Koji and Gustav, were taken at the scene, Asia escaped the suspects and remained at Ryan's side until authorities arrived. Thankfully, Ryan has recovered and Koji and Gustav have been found. After a week of intense care at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, he shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram. 4 days ago, while a car sped away and blood poured from my gun shot wound, an angel trotted over and laid next to me. My panicked screams calmed as I looked at her, even though it registered that the blood pooling around her tiny body was my own. I cradled Asia as best I could, thanked her for all the incredible adventures we’d been on together, apologized that I couldn’t defend her brothers, and then resolved that I would still try to save them… and myself. Hopeful that my calm(ish) and forceful pleas for the urgency of my care as well as the focused descriptions of the dogs would be enough to help me and get enough police and media attention to find the boys, I looked backed at my guardian angel. I smiled at her shaking form, thankful that at least she would be okay. From that point, right as the neighbors poured from their homes and restaurant to us on the sidewalk, life has taken a very sudden and unexpected turn. I am still in recovery from a very close call with death and have kept myself (for the most part, I mean I am human) from the growing media story. I will write and say more later, but the gratitude for all the love I feel from around this planet is immense and intense. I felt your healing support! Thank you. I am humbled and grateful that attention and focus from the police were enough to get Koji and Gustav back to safety, and I know they are committed to bringing these criminals and attempted murderers to justice. I am so appreciative of everything you continue to do. To all my friends and family who have cried with me and maybe even laughed at one or two of my morbid jokes by my side or over a screen: I love you. Thank you for keeping me grounded now more than ever. All the dog videos and photos from my clients to keep my spirits up worked miracles. Seeing their faces light up when you said my name motivates me to keep pushing so I can play with them and see you again soon. I love you all! First responders and health care workers: you literally saved my life and helped me take newborn walks, I can’t thank you enough. And to my family at Haüs and @ladygaga: your babies are back and the family is whole… we did it! You have shown so much support throughout this whole crisis to both me and my family. But your support as a friend, despite your own traumatic loss from your kids, was unwavering. I love you and thank you. And now? A lot of healing still needs to happen, but I look forward to the future and the moment when I get bombarded with kisses and licks (and maybe even an excitement pee?) from Asia, Koji, and Gustav. Lady Gaga Shares Story About A Family Member Recently Hospitalized During The Pandemic
Lady Gaga revealed recently, in an interview with People Magazine, that one of her family members was hospitalized for two months during the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The singer also talked about her admiration for the healthcare professionals that have been risking their lives in order to take care of patients in hospitals. Here's a preview from the interview: "I got to be honest. I'm about to cry on the other end of this call with you because it's really — it's doctors, it's nurses, it's essential workers," she says. "I haven't spoken to this person about speaking about this publicly, but I will tell you that a very important member of my family was very, very ill recently and in the hospital for almost two months. I was in the ICU by myself many times because you can't go in with more than one person, if you can go in at all. I have never seen the heroic acts of bravery that I witnessed, watching these doctors and nurses and people that were cleaning at the hospitals." [...] "They put their heart and soul into their work, and they even cared for me, who — I assure you, nobody could even recognize me behind all the gear that I had on. They just said, 'How are you doing? How is your family? Is everything okay? Can we do anything?'" Gaga says. Read the full interview here.

Tony Bennett Shares His Battle With Alzheimer's Disease & Confirms A New Project With Lady Gaga
Tony Bennett opened up about his battle with Alzheimer’s on AARP.com. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia on people with age. It’s characterized by memory loss, and ends up leaving the person very dependent on caregivers. Tony was first diagnosed with the disease back in 2016, and while it has certainly progressed, he hasn’t experienced the disorientation that can prompt patients to wonder from home as well as episodes of rage, terror, and depression. On the same occasion, he also talked about an upcoming project with Lady Gaga, scheduled for this upcoming Spring. The new Jazz album will feature songs recorded from 2018 to 2020. Here's an excerpt from the interview: Before his illness, Tony was known as a meticulous and hard-driving perfectionist in the studio. The 2012 documentary The Zen of Bennett (shot three years before the onset of any symptoms) includes an electrifying moment when Tony, working to calm a nervous Amy Winehouse during their duet on “Body and Soul,” snaps at producer Phil Ramone, who has dared to intervene on the studio mic: “No — stay out of it! Let she and I work it out.” In another sequence, he snaps at his music arranger-piano player, Lee Musiker, for using too fast a tempo on “The Way You Look Tonight,” which they are rehearsing for a duet with Faith Hill. “It can't be a throwaway,” Tony says. “I wanna do a definitive version of this song!" But Tony was a considerably more muted presence during the recording of the new album with Gaga. In raw documentary footage of the sessions, he speaks rarely, and when he does his words are halting; at times, he seems lost and bewildered. Gaga, clearly aware of his condition, keeps her utterances short and simple (as is recommended by experts in the disease when talking to Alzheimer's patients). “You sound so good, Tony,” she tells him at one point. “Thanks,” is his one-word response. She says that she thinks “all the time” about their 2015 tour. Tony looks at her wordlessly. “Wasn't that fun every night?” she prompts him. “Yeah,” he says, uncertainly. The pain and sadness in Gaga's face is clear at such moments — but never more so than in an extraordinarily moving sequence in which Tony (a man she calls “an incredible mentor, and friend, and father figure") sings a solo passage of a love song. Gaga looks on, from behind her mic, her smile breaking into a quiver, her eyes brimming, before she puts her hands over her face and sobs. The new LP offers lush, gorgeous duets, with both singers in superb voice. But there is one duty, in connection with the record, that Tony is manifestly not able to perform: promotional interviews. (When I asked him, “Are you excited about the new record with Gaga?” he stared at me silently.) This has left those in charge of Tony's life and career — chiefly Danny and Susan — in a quandary. Eager for as many ears as possible to hear and enjoy what may very well be the last Tony Bennett record, they have jointly decided to break the silence around his condition, a decision they have, necessarily, had to make without Tony's input, since he is, Susan said, incapable of understanding the disease, let alone making momentous decisions about whether to publicly disclose it. Continue reading on AARP.com We would like to send all our love and support to Tony Bennett and his family.
