Top Gun: Maverick and Lady Gaga praised by critics

The review embargo for Top Gun: Maverick has just lifted this morning.  Many publications are already hailing the film as the "perfect blockbuster" with the film debuting with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%.

While the film itself is receiving rave reviews for the acting, cinematography, and direction; Lady Gaga is also getting praised for her theme song for the movie, Hold My Hand.

REVIEWS:

"The muscular score by Harold Faltermeyer, Lady Gaga and Hans Zimmer also pulls its weight, with Gaga’s song, “Hold My Hand,” getting prime romantic placement."- The Hollywood Reporter

"In the same fashion as Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away” all those years ago, the Hans Zimmer/Lady Gaga score works miracles here." -The Film Stage

"The song slaps, but in my opinion, surpasses “Take My Breath Away” on the TopGun playlist." - Reel Talk Inc

"Lady Gaga’s end credits anthem “Hold My Hand,” is used as a score throughout the film to wonderful effect." - IndieWire

"Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand should be a harbinger for the return of chest-clutchingly hard ballads with every big movie." - Uniland

"Lady Gaga provides a nice new anthem, “Hold My Hand,” over the end credits." - Deadline
