Lady Gaga And The Power of Unlearning

On June 22, Lady Gaga sat down with Dr Bernice King to talk about racism and the power of unlearning. The centre of focus for the discussion was learning how to teach white people to join in conversations about white supremacy and racism.

Lady Gaga told a brief story about how she was asked to visit the Capitol on the day of President Biden's inauguration, but that she refused as she was too afraid. She then revealed that, after singing the national anthem at the event, she went incognito and witnessed the riots at the Capitol with her own eyes.

"It took me making mistakes and really looking in the mirror and asking why I can't talk about [racism]". - Lady Gaga.

The event was streamed live on Twitter, Facebook and the official King Center website.
