Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick got nominated for an Oscar as the Best Original Song at the upcoming 95th Academy Awards.
This is Lady Gaga’s FOURTH Oscar nomination, as “Hold My Hand” becomes her third song to be nominated for Best Original Song, along with “Till It Happens to You” from the 2015 documentary The Hunting Ground, and her iconic Bradley Cooper duet “Shallow”, for which she won her first Oscar in 2019. Gaga was also nominated for Best Actress for her role in A Star Is Born.
Written and produced by Gaga and BloodPop, with additional production by Benjamin Rice, “Hold My Hand” was nominated for multiple awards leading to the Oscars, including Golden Globes, Critics Choice, and Grammy Awards.
Top Gun: Maverick score soundtrack composed by Gaga, Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe and Harold Faltermeyer also picked up a few nominations, and even though it wasn’t eligible for the Oscars, the movie itself got nominated in the following categories: Best Sound, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Visual Effects, and Best Picture.
