The Palm Springs International Film Awards has just announced that Lady Gaga will be honoured at their upcoming ceremony as she is set to receive the Icon Award for her performance in βHouse Of Gucciβ directed by Ridley Scott.Β
This news was released with the following statement:Β
βTo many Lady Gaga is an icon through her music, but she continues to impress audiences with her iconic acting roles,β festival chairman Harold Matzner said in a statement. βFollowing her memorable performance in βA Star is Born,β Lady Gaga yet again raises the bar in her portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani in βHouse of Gucci,β the shocking true story of the family behind the Italian fashion empire. For this tour-de-force performance, it is our honor to present the icon award to Lady Gaga.β
In the past this award has been awarded to the likes of Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Tom Hanks, Willem Dafoe, Michael Douglas, and Robert Duvall (among others).Β
The ceremony will be held in-person at the Palm Springs Convention Center on January 6th, 2022.
