The multi-talented, legendary songstress Lady Gaga, turns 33 today: March 28.
Back in 2015 Lady Gaga said in an interview with Billboard: "I want to explode as I go into my 30s" months before she turned 30. Today, as she gears up to celebrate her 33rd birthday, Lady Gaga has already conquered 2019, both in the realms of music and film, owing to the success of her 2018 box office hit "A Star Is Born". Here is a recap of what she has achieved during the first three months of the year in honor of her 33rd birthday:
1. A STAR IS BORN SUCCESS
Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper's reimagining of the classic tale "A Star Is Born" has crossed $430,000,000 at the worldwide box office. It has also ended 2018 as the 11th highest grossing movie in the United States.
2. ENIGMA
At the end of 2018, Lady Gaga has embarked on her acclaimed Vegas residency "Enigma" which has earned a total of $16,000,000 from its first 11 sold-out dates. "Vegas was once where music stars faded away. Now it's cool enough for Lady Gaga" was one of the many headlines in major news outlets which credited Gaga for revitalizing the once-dead Vegas scene.
3. WORLDWIDE CHARTS
As of today, Lady Gaga's "Shallow" has completed its 141st day atop the iTunes Worldwide Songs chart. It has also spent a total of 9 weeks atop Billboard Digital Song Sales chart where it still sits at number 1. The song has also become the longest chart topper on U.S. iTunes by a female artist where it still continues to hold strong at #1 in the face of many new releases.
4. BILLBOARD DOUBLE #1
After a magnificent duet of "Shallow" at the Oscars, Gaga & Cooper's global hit has surged to #1 on Billboard Hot 100. During the same week, "A Star Is Born" Soundtrack has returned to #1 on Billboard 200, earning Gaga her first ever simultaneous #1s of her career on the two major Billboard charts.
5. ACADEMY AND GRAMMY AWARDS
Lady Gaga has also collected many noteworthy awards courtesy of her debut leading role as Ally in "A Star Is Born". First, she won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song for Shallow. Soon after, she takes home another trophy as she wins National Board of Review's Best Actress award. A few days later, Gaga wins big at the Critics Choice Awards as she takes home Best Original Song for Shallow and the Best Actress award, tied with Glenn Close. She raised her Grammy count from 6 to 9 in one night as Shallow wins "Best Song Written For Visual Media" and "Best Pop/Duo Group Performance" and Joanne (Where Do You Think You're Goin'?) wins "Best Pop Solo Performance". On the same night, she also won "Best Original Music" at 2019 BAFTAs. But her biggest came at the night of 2019 Oscars where she was awarded "Best Original Song" for her songwriting in Shallow.
It seems that Lady Gaga has a lot more in store for the world for the remainder of 2019. She recently updated her social media accounts with a picture of musical notes reading "GAGA", signaling new music in near future. She is set to host fashion's biggest night, the Met Gala, in May, gearing up to launch her beauty empire "Haus Beauty" and returning back to her sold-out Vegas residency after a few months of break. Whatever happens, however, we are sure that success will follow.
Oh, and one last thing to say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Gaga!
