LadyGaGaNow.Net had the pleasure to interview YouGottaLove, also known as Richard Yagutilov, probably one of the greatest photographers ever. We asked him 8 interesting questions about his work with Lady GaGa and more!

1- Did Lady GaGa contact you to work with her or did you contact her
management?

GaGa’s management contacted me through Interscope last minute about going on tour shooting her Video Tour Diaries.

2- When you met and saw her, what was your first feeling?

After meeting Lady Gaga and seeing her perform I knew she would become the new Madonna only much bigger.

3- When and Where did you work with her?

I worked with her the summer of 2008. We met at her hotel in Niagara Falls. We went to a club performance they and at 3am drove to Toronto for a live televised performance at Much Music. After that we flew across the country to the west.

4- How was it to work with Lady GaGa?

Lady Gaga is Supercool. Very kind and super creative. I was very impressed by her inventivess. How she created her TV glasses and crystal cane wild outfits even Space Cowboy’s disco ball tie.

5- Did you learn anything by working with her?

Lady Gaga tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Lisa Robinson that she tries to avoid having sex because she is afraid of depleting her creative energy—“I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina.”

She also says that she doesn’t trust anybody and doesn’t know if she ever will. Gaga tells Robinson, “I’m perpetually lonely. I’m lonely when I’m in relationships. It’s my condition as an artist.” Regarding men, she says, “I’m drawn to bad romances. And my song [“Bad Romance”] is about whether I go after those [sort of relationships] or if they find me. I’m quite celibate now; I don’t really get time to meet anyone.”

Gaga talks candidly about her drug use and recalls her ultimate low point: “I was completely mental and had just been through so much.” She had been using drugs, and is quick to tell Robinson that, if she writes about that incident, “I do not want my fans to ever emulate that or be that way. I don’t want my fans to think they have to be that way to be great. It’s in the past. It was a low point, and it led to disaster.”
